I come back to this song to remember why I love drum and bass so much, thank god for Metalheadz

I remember hearing this one in Blocks & Escher's guestmix for the BBC Radio 1 show (Rockwell covering for Friction) and among all the wonderful tunes this one absolutely stood out! The feeling when I first heard these chords hit, there are not many tunes that do this to me (and yes, I am a picky fucker). Those switchups, the Boymerang break edits, the vocal samples, the emotive vibe in general are just among some of the elements that made me fall in love with this one. "Something Borrowed, Something Blue" is truly magical and a tune like this only ever comes once in a looooong time

This is for the real D&B lovers the heads!! The metalheadz!! The pioneers who brought you THE sound!!

Unbelievable. The drum edits are excellent. A perfect mix of nostalgic samples with cutting-edge production. 😎

Serious! Can't wait for the album. Real deep D&B music built to last. This is the kind of stuff that will hold up in another 20 years. Real art.

Sounding fresh but evoking memories of 90s Headz / Prototype. This is wicked on a big system - bass hums so nicely. Album's clearly gonna be big!

You can hear the references to the blue note/Headz in this. Unnoficial Ghost(Scotty), Goldie et all.....But its all done so flawlessly :-)

I bet I'm not the only one that is excited as f**k about this whole LP! Was worth the wait and it will be one of my favorite albums of the year, no doubt about that.

The time has finally come, cant wait to hear the full album! This one here is a masterpiece, their arrangements are always amazing
@ciaacho16 жыл бұрын
the thing is... I can think of a few older tunes from them that I find too dense/overwhelming. Their new work however, (this tune in particular) retains all of that trademark heaviness, while at the same time being very airy and having lots of ambience. The improvement itself is inspiring! There needs to be more that mindset in the genre, hopefully the album makes some waves.

cstldk yess man, i agree with all that you said, and i hope that it encourage more producers to step up the production levels!

To the 4 people who disliked this...... you don’t deserve this masterpiece of arrangements anyway, this is for the intelligent
@code.design2 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure those 4 people care less for your arrogant tone versus the fact you did not like the fact that they did not like the song.
@shermansadventure11512 жыл бұрын
Can you imagine thinking that liking a particular song makes you more intelligent than someone else? Fuckin' embarrassing man lol.. There's nothing intelligent about that kind of condescending elitism. Even LTJ Bukem started distancing himself away from the term "intelligent drum and bass".

I always feel a lot of DnB Producer these Days are almost afraid to explore the power of Audio editing and dwell deeply in experimental Breakbeat editing - back in the 90ies the producer had it way harder to do what is possible today...it's like the Audio software has become too powerful and many Producer just use what they are comfortable with.

mate a lot of work has gone into this track listen to it. sounds like nothing that's out. I would say this is very experimental.
@Raydensheraj6 жыл бұрын
Gray Young That's out now...maybe. But I have heard every Breakbeat in this song. A couple Doppler ( Pitchbend on the Break), Boymerang beat, John B Secrets break... don't get me wrong , this goes definitely the right direction...but I expect more haha
@toxicrhythmz37186 жыл бұрын
The arrangements are quite complex in this tune compared to most other new skool beats actually.
