That plank countertop will be a wreck in under a week. And mold will be forming in under a month. A very specific high density treatment is needed to use planks in wet areas! Ladies, imagine just a drop of face cream or accidentally dropping open lipstick, mascara, or hair color onto porous wood. Gents, shaving splatter does happen. Or a splash of water on the unsealed counter runs under the sink. Next, beadboard is SOFT wood. Next time, if you want a paneled look, use substantial paneling. Less than one sheet would do. Next, if you are keeping Spanish tile then utilize it’s very specific look by tying in the rest of the room. So tile the wood counter ....add that sink you selected or better yet, a raised oval sink. Inexpensive Spanish frame mirrors are plentiful and appropriate , black or bronze lighting fixtures for spigot and shower hardware. Shelves should use decorative wrought iron mounts. That’s how you bring a room together around that Spanish floor tile.

I love these videos. So many people have this type of bathroom, but finding inspiration/tips for remodeling it is somewhat of a struggle. I don't know if it's because designers are rarely called in to help with these kind of bathrooms or if the results of bigger bathroom remodels are, unsurprisingly, more grand/impressive and people want to show them off. But thank you!

The video's are really helpful to me, as when the bedroom is finished, I will be decorating the bathroom. These transformations for bathroom are just great and very inspiring, and it is true, your budget can be low. Also look at what you do have and it might be apart of the dream to renovate where you planned. Also I think it is interesting to plan, choose and when it's all done, you won't believe the results, as shown in these video's.

Are you not gonna seal the countertop? Also, the large handles are crooked and look weird on such a small vanity, looks way too cramped. Cute, easy reno tho.

Did they at least do the plumbing for the sink or did they just leave it on top of the wooden plank? Also is that included into the cost of $1000 to do installations?

Taylor lol whoa ok sorry if my question offended you. No need to say my mind is small when it wasn’t clear in the video and I’m not the only one with that question. And if my comment annoyed you or offended you, just ignore it and move on with your life. But really dude...it was really uncalled for and I hope you block me since I’m so offensive to you.
@cnllnc6 жыл бұрын
Taylor in regards to everything being done in the bathroom for $1000, it would make sense to include it into the bathroom. If it’s a common question that not only I have, then maybe it could have been more clear. But honestly, the best way to respond is when you’re not feeling heated. Out of all the people who had similar questions, you chose to respond rudely to me and honestly, it wasn’t cool. I wasn’t here to annoy you or bother you. So next time, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all. I hope you’re not like this in person to random people who have questions.
@cnllnc6 жыл бұрын
Taylor also if they were just making a renovation video, why bother saying it’s under $1000? They could have simplified it by just making it a normal renovation video but they said $1000 for a reason so of course one would consider what exactly is being done within those $1000. It is normal to question that especially if people don’t have a lot of money to work with such as myself. Please block me, rich person who doesn’t have to think about cost or budgeting, so my questions and comments never appear to you again :) thank you.

Love this makeover! I'm a huge fan of Amber Interiors. HELP, please! I do have a question about painting cabinets and vanities that don't appear to be solid wood. For example, if you were to look up from the bottom of my kitchen cabinets you can see some of the side pieces almost look like plywood in the center instead of solid wood. If the cabinets are indeed engineered wood and are stained, is it still possible to paint? We just bought our first house and the previous owner did some updating like adding granite counter tops etc. but we were want to paint to update the space. Thanks for any help or suggestions!
@lowes9 жыл бұрын
+Christen Conant painting cabinets or vanities is all about the prep. Knowing what finish is on them BEFORE you start is crucial as is a good cleaning. This article walks you through all the things to consider/do before you paint: low.es/206JGMY. Project may take a bit longer but you'll avoid pitfalls and be much happier with the result. Thanks for watching our video!

Is anyone other than me bothered by the counter top? It’s just bare wood, which makes not the slightest amount of good sense in an area that will be made wet over and over. That wood top should have been used as a sub-straight for tile. It doesn’t have to be boring builder’s grade tile. Lowe’s has lots of designer-look tile that should have been affordable, given how tiny that vanity top is. Barring that, the wood top could have been sealed with resin or some other substance.
