I remember ( I am 94, ) that during the war destroying a town with carpet bombing was called “Coventrisieren”! It tells enough.

The English verb: to 'Coventrate' was a word created after the destruction of central Coventry, however, the destruction of central Coventry was a pale shaddow of what the 'Allies' did to Dresden. Dresden was re-built in the manner that it had been before its destruction and is beautiful. Coventry was rebuilt in modern 1950's style and is a very ugly place.

One interesting fact for you Paul: Marmaduke Pickthall, the famous British writer, translator and Muslim convert who was born in 1875 was a "classmate and friend" of Winston Churchill at Harrow School, the prestigious boarding school in England. They both shared a similar "social" status as members of the "upper class", however, they had very different views on politics, religion and culture. Pickthall, being a devout Muslim, was a sympathizer of the Ottoman Empire and also the Indian independence movement (Did Tariq Ali mention this?), while Churchill was a staunch imperialist and colonialist.

Following the game plan laid out at the British 1st Imperial Press Conference of 1909, and representing Rothschild interests, J.P Morgan proxies purchased the top 25 most influential publications in the United States in 1915. They then used their editorial control to drive U.S. public opinion into the First World War on the side of the Allied Powers. As a reward, the British cabinet approved the Balfour Declaration promising Baron Rothschild it would endeavor to create a homeland for Jews in Palestine. Now, jump forward to the 1950’s, when the CIA used Operation Mockingbird to penetrate U.S. media, as well as various USG, state, and even certain metropolitan agencies. Today, nearly all U.S. legacy media is controlled by just five conglomerates, all of which are ultimately controlled by the Deep State, which came to power behind the scenes via JFK's assassination in 1963. That is why the JFK assassination is regarded as the Third Rail in American Journalism. The Democratic Party has become its political wing, and the MSM is now little more than its propaganda arm.

@@glennjames7107, since the beginning, the Deep State operated behind a duopolistic uniparty façade until Donald Trump's 2016 candidacy. Feeling threatened by the self-funded candidacy of a man it had not vetted and over whom it had little control, the Deep State threw all in behind Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party. To be sure, several GOP leaders remain its tools, but the Dems effectively became its political wing. In 2020, it successfully deposed Pres. Trump through massive election fraud, judicial intimidation, Deep State/Big Tech censorship, and media gaslighting. Having failed to neutralize him by destroying him through lawfare and dismantling his business empire, it has again resorted to murder. It fears RFK Jr. also, for obvious reasons. The Deep State operates much like Iran’s Council of Guardians as an unelected, unaccountable, self-styled fourth branch of government, neutralizing threats like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy, Sr., backing its own globalist candidates like GHW Bush and Barack Obama, and, to ensure profits from endless wars, manipulating the American people and world events through its Mockingbird media and false flag operations, like the second Tonkin Gulf Incident, the attack on USS LIBERTY, 9/11, and J6. The Deep State does not serve the president or the country except to the limited extent that they share the same interests with the oligarchs who lie behind it, many of whom are not even American. Our uncle served in Palestine after WW2. He said they were not terrified of the arabs but of the terrorists on the other side. The murder of British squaddies and then the booby trapping of their bodies to inflict maximum mayhem and murder had something to do with this but also generally having potshots taken at them constantly. They came out of WW2 having fought Nazism and were exhausted. Why on earth are those squaddies and the ones killed at the King David hotel not commemorated each year on Remembrance Sunday? Britain is losing its sense of self these days.

Considering Britain's betrayal of the Jews in British created Palestine, who had just seen millions of their own people exterminated in Europe, I'd be a little afraid of the Jews too. There is just so much Jew hate the Jews are going to put up with from antisemitic ingrates. As for the title of this little video screed, no one really used the expression, "the Palestinians and the Jews" during the Mandate, because "Palestinian" was a "national" category invented by Britain, and not really accepted by the Arabs of that time, but embraced by the Jews of the mandate. And of course before the British creation of Palestine, no people ever called itself the "Palestinians". BTW, with all due respect to your dead uncle, the Arabs had committed plenty of violence against the Jews, not just during the mandate but long before, even there in the land of the Jews, i.e., the Land of Israel, as its true indigenous people called it long before the European empire known as Rome imposed the name of another people of European derivation, the Philistines, on the land of the Jews. And as for the use of "Palestinians" to describe the Arabs of Palestine in this video? That's an alleged people was actually invented in the 1960s by the Soviets and the Egyptian, Yasser Arafat.

In the interests of fairness we should also recall Winston Churchill's secret fact finding mission to Cyprus in 1907, which upon his return to Britain wrote a secret memo to parliament ('Condition of Cyprus.' Memorandum by Winston Churchill) lambasting the colonial office for the maltreatment of the Cypriots and urging parliament to intervene. His motivation appears to be more about Britain's prestige than the plight of the Cypriots but it's well to know that it was so damning that the memo remained secret for 100 years. Muslim world The practice of wearing special clothing or markings to distinguish Jews and other non-Muslims (dhimmis) in Muslim-dominated countries seems to have been introduced in the Umayyad Caliphate by Caliph Umar II in the early 8th century. The practice was revived and reinforced by the Abbasid caliph al-Mutawakkil (847-861), subsequently remaining in force for centuries.[2][3] A genizah document from 1121 gives the following description of decrees issued in Baghdad: Two yellow badges [are to be displayed], one on the headgear and one on the neck. Furthermore, each Jew must hang round his neck a piece of lead weighing [3 grammes] with the word dhimmi on it. He also has to wear a belt round his waist. The women have to wear one red and one black shoe and have a small bell on their necks or shoes.[4]

Thanks for the selective history. I notice how quick jihadi apologists are to point out the case of Spain, as if that's supposed to be representative of the larger Arab-Muslim world. In all likelihood Spain was distinct in being the only part of Western Europe conquered into dar al Islam. The Ummayad Caliphate would have had a vested interest in presenting a more tolerant policy there that was different from other areas and probably uncharacteristic when it came to their treatment of the dhimmi minorities given the fact that all Spaniards were ahl al kitab rather than kafirs. It was in their interest to be less brutal.

My friend, concerning the part where you mentionned Lebanon, Lebanon has existed since since the dawn of time and its name is mentionned 17 times in the bible. Even under the ottoman empire where damascus directly managed by the turcs, Mount Lebanon had its autonomy inside the empire and maronite patriarch at its head. Lebanon has never been part of Syria and there are 2 chains of mountains as high as 3000 meters that sperates them if you have ever been in the region and the relation of Mount Lebanon with France are since the 12th century.

From then on, she found foreigners who she worked for and they helped her get her passport back and her freedom. We live in Jordan. The woman and her 2-year old are from Kenya (Christians). She has told me this happens by the hundreds or thousands. In Saudi they are locked in the "secret room". They can have any kind of crime done to them including begin killed. In my building where I lived for a year and a half in Amman, A woman was kidnapped, locked in a room and when the door was open by mistake she ran out but was thrown over the balcony to her death. No charges were pressed and the man continues in his shop on the same street and the whole community knows - espeically the immigrant women. Also these women often have their passport and cell phone taken away and kept under lock and key. But some have managed to post on facebook telling their story and showing the bruises from beatings.

@clivekahn430510 күн бұрын
@@franciscosaldana2879 YES INDEED, there has indeed been injustice. It began when Titus the Roman conquered Israel, besieged and destroyed Jerusalem. Of those Jews that were not killed, the vast majority were taken into slavery and/or exiled. The Romans wishing to destroy all trace of Israel renamed their conquered territory Palestina (there is no "P" in Arabic, hence Arabs call it Falestina). Subsequent years saw a variety of conquerors, Arabs, Mongols, Crusaders and finally Turks who included the territory in the Ottoman Empire whilst we Jews languished in Europe, Russia and North Africa. But Ottoman's side with Germany in World War 1, their empire destroyed and the British victors were granted the "Palestine Mandate". The British gave the the Husseini's 88% of "Palestine" for siding with them in the war. The remaining 22% was to be divided between the Jews that had returned to our land ad the Arabs that had migrated into these territories (which by the way was largely a neglected backwater under the various empires). The UN Special Commission on Palestine recommended partitioning Palestine into Jewish and Arab states in 1947. The Jews said yes the Arabs said no and declared war - Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon invaded Israel - but they lost the war. Note that at that time there was no "Palestine" - only Arabs and Jews. Some 700,000 Arabs fled Israel to surrounding Arab states. Later in the 1950's some 850,000 Jews fled Arab states , most of whom went to Israel. So I agree with you --- their has been much injustice on all sides -- however I think you look to the incorrect source of this injustice ---- Israel comprises less than 28,000 square kilometers with a Jewish population of barely 7 million people (plus another 2 million Arab citizens that enjoy full human rights.- on the other side of our borders there are more than 22 Arab states with more than 400 million people on over 13,000,000 square kilometers of land ----- Israel absorbed it's brethren who today comprise more than 50% of the Israeli Jewish population. The Arab states refused to absorb their brethren keeping them refugee camps with little or no rights keeping them as permanent refugees. Christians attempted world domination but today settle for what they have and have Rome as their capital. Muslims are still on the march and whilst mecca and Medina are their spiritual capitals there are those that insist that any territory that they once controlled are theirs ----- this includes Spain, Constantinople and with the help of 'understanding' people like yourself could well be Paris and London etc as well ----- Our home is Israel, Judea and Samaria from as long ago as 3000 years ago when King David and Solomon built our temple in Jerusalem ---- we welcome people of good faith to the holy land ----

Very compelling and unbiased, thank you so much. I wasn't aware that the "jews" who predate both Christianity and Islam are a culture that materialized out of thin air in unknown areas somewhere in the world.....I don't know where? What was life like during the Ottoman empire for native Christians and jews? Awnser they were lucky to get out. They were colonized and displaced. Maybe Churchill had negative views of the former allies of the Nazis. The allies won ,Churchill although far from perfect he helped save the world from fascism and allowed the native jews who were ethnically cleansed from they're homeland to return. He was not considerate of the Arab population but considering the alliance to Germany in both wars it would be false to think he wasn't biased. They fueled the German army and during ww1 and performed ethnic cleansing in the ottoman empire when noone was looking and after the fall of the ottomans in ww2 they assisted Rommel in north Africa where Britain under Montgomery fought a costly desert war and earned every inch of the allied victory with the lives of thousands of Englishmen. The Vichy French in Syria controlled the airfields used to supply Rommel who was unfortunately probably one of the best generals in the history of war. Churchill both sought to undo the injustice of the jews being removed from their lands and marginalize the former allies of his defeated enemies. The crime in that is that he should have learned from the effects in Germany of the treaty of Versailles after ww1, England and France marginalized the Germans creating the perfect conditions for extreme fascism and the rise of his greatest adversary Adolf Hitler who managed to radicalized every day normal and good poeple to do atrocious things in the name of the regime.......Islamic extremism grows from the seeds of revenge and marginalization. Solutions are difficult to agree on, misinformed opinions are viral and the polarized perspectives of this conflict are nearly impossible to overcome. But there is always hope so long as both sides come to terms with the whole truth of their actions and histories. No one is 100% correct, no one is 100% honest and transparent and no none is perfect in this world. Only God knows the absolute path. We should all remember that even though we worship along different paths we all believe in the same God, maybe then we will stop unleashing hell. Life is a test of faith and conscience....these atrocities are the results of us failing to reconcile that fact.

I am a serious student of Churchill….not only was he a deep humanitarian but also a founder of the modern welfare state. When he became Prime Minister, in May 1940, he stood alone, not only against the Nazi threat, at a time when Europe was collapsing (the US did not come into the war until December 1941) but also within his own class who wanted to parley with Hitler. Our situation was nothing short of desperate. In case this is not enough to assuage his critics, they should have a look at the eulogies following his death in 1965. They could not be more laudatory and were highly moving. I’m going to quote an extract from Attlee’s tribute. He was Churchill’s deputy in the Coalition Government during the Second World War as well as his great political rival, Churchill losing to him in the 1945 General Election “.......I do not think everybody always recognised how tender- hearted he was. I can recall him with the tears rolling down his cheeks, talking of the horrible things perpetrated by the Nazis in Germany. I can recall, too, during the war his emotion on seeing a simple little English home wrecked by a bomb. Yes, my Lords, sympathy-and more than that: he went back, and immediately devised the War Damage Act. How characteristic! Sympathy did not stop with emotion; it turned into action......... Then I recall the long days through the war-the long days and long nights-in which his spirit never failed; and how often he lightened our labours by that vivid humour, those wonderful remarks he would make which absolutely dissolved us all in laughter, however tired we were......and I recall, too, as the most reverend Primate has said already, that when once the enemy were beaten he had full sympathy for them. He showed that after the Boer War, and he showed it again after the First World War. He had sympathy, an incredibly wide sympathy, for ordinary people all over the world.....He saw himself there as an instrument. As an instrument for what? For freedom, for human life against tyranny. None of us can ever forget how, through all those long years, he now and again spoke exactly the phrase that crystallised the feelings of the nation. My Lords, we have lost the greatest Englishman of our time-I think the greatest citizen of the world of our time. In the course of a long, long life, he has played many parts. We may all be proud to have lived with him and, above all, to have worked with him.....” There are too many examples of the perpetuation of time-honoured myths (often the fault of “copy and paste” writers masquerading as historians), built on the very shaky foundations of ignorance and prejudice and calculated to denigrate the Churchill legacy. It is high time that these myths are laid to rest. Detractors - please note. If anybody should be “judge and jury” of Churchill, it should be Attlee, the much-respected, long-serving Labour leader and Prime Minister (1945/51), who got to know Churchill so well during the war years. Churchill was a colossus in standing up, almost alone, to tyranny, he should therefore be judged a giant no matter what the age. It should always be remembered, though, that his greatness was combined with him being a deep humanitarian - that is why he was (and still is) respected and loved by so many and why I am a crusader in upholding his legacy.

My Lord! Bless me with righteous offspring.”So We gave him good news of a forbearing son.Then when the boy reached the age to work with him, Abraham said, “O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I ˹must˺ sacrifice you. So tell me what you think.” He replied, “O my dear father! Do as you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me steadfast.”Then when they submitted ˹to Allah’s Will˺, and Abraham laid him on the side of his forehead ˹for sacrifice˺,We called out to him, “O Abraham!You have already fulfilled the vision.” Indeed, this is how We reward the good-doers.That was truly a revealing test. And We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice (Ishmael).and blessed Abraham ˹with honourable mention˺ among later generations:“Peace be upon Abraham. This is how We reward the good-doers. He was truly one of Our faithful servants.We ˹later˺ gave him good news of Isaac-a prophet, and one of the righteous.We blessed him (Abraham or Ishmael) and Isaac as well. Some of their descendants did good, while others clearly wronged themselves. And We certainly showed favour to Moses and Aaron,and delivered them and their people from the great distress.We helped them so it was they who prevailed. We gave them the clear Scripture,and guided them to the Straight Path.And We blessed them ˹with honourable mention˺ among later generations:“Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.”. (Ash-Shafat 100-122)

That is to say, that any people physically or mentally unpaired should bit be allowed to reproduce. He supported the US eugenic effort when hundreds is thousands of people were forcefully sterilized by sterilization or castration . Nazi Germany took the lead from the US in this regard. We can look back throughout history, especially that of the great Empires (great meaning huge as opposed to wonderful) and track multiple atrocities and acts that we would consider war crimes. The Romans performed genocides in Europe, Carthage and to the Celts. The Ottoman Empire were ruthless in their enforcement of Islam. The most famous of their genocides being in Armenia. All of the European empires colonised parts of Africa and were ruthless in imposing taxes. Belgian rulers were especially brutal. The Spanish were brutal in Mexico and parts of what is now USA and throughout their South American colonies. I could write a book about imperial racism, slavery and genocide. Whilst Winston was a typical aristocrat, putting his class above all others and doing whatever he saw fit to the "lesser beings"! At the time there was an existential threat from another empire. If we judge anyone from the past by standards we now set for ourselves, we will see brutality, atrocity, unfairness and injustice. If people are not seeing this in current conflicts then they need some psychiatric help. Looking back at the crimes of Hitler and Churchill is only serving to deflect attention away from current warmongers. In Ukraine and Palestine! So Mr ALI, what skin colour of supremacy was the Ottoman Empire enacting? I think anyone that has any sort of genetic, linguistic or racial affinity with the Ottoman Empire, should basically go sit in a corner and shut the F up!

I don’t think it helps to judge past actions or attitudes by our contemporary values - other than to understand the origins of the current injustice , and emotionally to make us feel righteous . I have no sympathy for anyone at any time in history who said or acted as if they felt that some humans have rights and their lives matter and other humans have no rights and their lives don't matter. And let's be clear that despite the rhetoric about spreading Christianity or about civilizing other races or about moral superiority of Christians and Jewish people the political leaders saying such things knew very well that that was all nonsense rationalization spoken and written to justify horrific actions that served certain economic, political and military interests. They knew what they were doing was wrong - they just didn't care. Somewhat similar to how Trump and Putin pretend to be spiritual religious people to justify horrific actions that serve certain political and economic interests. White European Christians and white European Jewish Zionists didn't invade and occupy the lands of other people for religious reasons - they did it for economic, political and military reasons. If it was just about being good Christians and Jewish people then they could have stayed in Europe and done that and left the rest of the world alone.

When you think that believing that non-white people deserve basic rights and to be safe from colonialist invasion apartheid and oppression is somehow "religious extremism" then you display your racism and religious extremism.
