"Take Away Phoenix" is a 21 minutes movie where you can see the band Phoenix playing four songs for La Blogotheque's Take Away Shows, in a single movie.
This includes : "Bourgeois" sung in a flying plane (over the Alps), "Entertainment" filmed by a drone, at dawn in the empty gardens of the Palace of Versailles, "Trying to be cool" played in a boat in Neptune's bassins, and "Countdown" played in a small garden in the palace of Versailles.

Everything was filmed with one camera, sound recorded on site. EVEN IN THE PLANE. EVEN FOR THE DRONE.

but we didn't get rid of the sound ! you can hear the boats, you can hear the plane. the drone was really silent so we actually had to put it up in the mix. the sound is good because we used lavalier mics really close to the sources, allowing us to seperate from the ambiant sounds. the shadow was there, just not in the frame. everything is 100% live, no playback.

You can really feel the kind of philosophy of the band. Toy synths, out of tune singing, simple guitars rythms, but yet so powerful songs. This version of countdown deserves a studio version though.

OMG watching the start of this video reminded me that I was able to touch Thomas Mars's back!!
