I like the way you've managed to integrate the fact that the original GP90 was indeed a smokeless cartridge into this video, bloke. Nicely done.

I bought one of these a few years ago, I LOVE it! Works fine, shoots well, very well made and very light. Problems? People bitch about the bolt, O-K, how about this? Don't PLAY with it! If you're not mechanically inclined, leave it to a gunsmith.

Amazing, both over engineering & buggered engineering on the same rifle. Makes me wonder if the designer went to work for BMW in later years.

@@borkwoof696 Well, i liked the Skoda Superb my father had until recently... Anyway, if you want a durable car, take a Honda or Toyota. Mine is 20 years old and still works flawlessly(didnt even need a repair the last time..) To the guns: Steyr is a good company for sure(TMP9, AUG, M...), but sometimes they tend to think unconventionally(and complicated). Just loock at the ACR. Sometimes they fuck up. They are, so to say, a mixture of German and Italian engineering. Over- and Underengineering. Basically, this is typical for Austrian Engineering in general. Nothing extremely ingenius, yet completely reliably working, innovative, precisely machined and fitted to the needs, for the most part. Basically, us Austrians are Germans with heavy Mediterranean influence(culturally). I think i can see a connection there with the over and underengineering.

try wrapping some sandpaper under the front sight protector, the part that acts as a stock band, may help with accuracy by snugging up things, and this way you have not modified it permanently. Also adding a pad near the front of the forestock to put a few pounds of pressure on the barrel once assembled helps, you guessed it sandpaper (it grips well). Basically doing the same thing as on a #4 Lee Enfield.

Seems like C&Rsenal's "The Swiss didn't like these carbines maybe they didn't know how to make 'em right" hit right home :) Could You fix the sights? Looked for them since i already load for my K31, only found them in the brd without brd proof well with the numbers produced they really are a collector's item so for a shooter i have a M 95 on the way and they knew how to attach a front sight... Did the Swis really do that? And not notice it? Wow...

Can GP11 be fired from this handsome little carbine? I'm sure the sights would need to be recalibrated, but if so it'd make ammo acquisition here in the US a bit easier. As always, fantastic video. I never miss rangetime with Bloke and The Chap...kinda like Butch and Sundance, only better.
@maverickpaladin4155

Sorry for the lag time, but thanks very much for your commentary. That's one very handsome little carbine. I would think that the design flaw should be fairly easy to fix without modifying the weapon, but even if firing it were not recommended, it's a fascinating bridge piece between the 2 most prolific straight pull milsurp designs ever fielded. Granted, there are a couple of others (Ross and Lee Navy) that I'm aware of, but when you think military straight pull action, Schmidt Rubin and Mannlicher (sounds like a law firm) immediately come to mind. Looking forward to your next installment.

Hi. I'm sub to your channel for a long time and I have a love relationship with swiss guns. So I hope you can help me on this question. My GP 11 ammo is almost over and I can't find it in my country, but my gunsmith says that there's a 2 types of ammo I can use, the wolf gold and PPU! In your opinion should I use this ammo? Because my k31 is in fantastic condition and is a gun i want to pass to my son when he turns 18 years old. My k31 have all the match serial numbers correct, have the soldier tag in the stock...etc. She's awesome many people already offer me a good money if I want to sell it. But I love my guns and I don't sell any gun. So I hope you can tell me some alternatives to the GP 11 ammo or where I can buy GP11 AMMO in Europe. Thank you very much for the attention. 👍
@BlokeontheRange
@BlokeontheRange 3 жыл бұрын
I have never seen Wolf Gold in person so don't have an opinion on it. PPU is OK, as is TopShot (made by S&B for Frankonia). Neither are as good as GP11 though. Since "Europe" isn't a country, and you can't just buy ammo like that over borders, I can't help you with your last question, since you need to buy it in *your* country.
