The z piece also goes the same distance as the w and the v. Use the z w and v pieces to get to the center the fastest.

My strategy to always win in books is to create a wall around a space to the right or left of where you started and keep that area for the game. At the end everyone will have many pieces and you will have a huge area of white space that they cannot get to

Actually green would have won here. While you successfully blocked him on one side he just got through to your side while you are completely blocked from his side.

the straight long ones need to go on the side edges of the board. else they block our own selves along with blocking others. but other tips are good.

Blokus is defend, attack and secure space ... IMO you have made so many assumptions about the green pieces that only a rookie would play... by the time you played the z piece , red would have to fight for their survival .. 😅
