Two diametrically opposed teams face-off each other in the latest gameplay video of Blood Bowl 2, the sequel to the video game adaptation of Games Workshop’s famous board game that combines American football with the fantasy world of Warhammer. To sum up: the slow and tough Dwarfs, versus the fast and scrawny Skaven!
Albeit slow, Dwarfs make great Blood Bowl players. They're compact, tough, well-armoured, and have a stubborn knack of refusing to die! Most successful Dwarf teams work to the principle that if they can massacre all the other team's best players and wear down the rest, then there won't be anybody left to stop them scoring touchdowns! Their Deathroller, a real mobile siege engine, helps greatly with this tactic, as it is able to crush any enemy regardless of its size. However, the use of such a machine is strictly forbidden, and the referee will always end up sending the player (and his ride) off.
Skaven, on the other hand, show just the opposite traits. Save for their Rat Ogre, they're not so tough, frail, but rather agile and extremely fast. Many an opponent has been left in the starting blocks as fast-moving Skaven players scamper through a gap in the line and run in for a lightning fast touchdown. Make sure your Skaven players keep away from the opponent though - especially if they're hard-hitting players such as the Dwarfs - or you'll be likely to end up the match with much less players than you started it…

Focus interactive you guys need to make the bodies of the players respond better to being hit. They should bounce off of the ground, fall awkwardly and in different places when knocked down by opponents . There should be alot of animations for each action that is performed in the game so we do not get bored and turn them off. I thought that those mechanics were already in the game based on the previous videos. Specifically the orcs vs humans vid and the chaos vs high elf vid. Please fix this

Why are the dwarven cheerleaders human? I'm imagining that is because they just wanted an effective trailer and the models will be changed to connect to the race. Cause if not that feels kind of dumb to me. I mean an option to choose between different race cheerleaders would be cool.

Play a race that has high armor and hire an apothecary. Or just accept the fact players are going to die and make sure you've hired spares. This is Blood Bowl after all.

Why would you have a Gutter Runner go for it twice in the first turn? Also, where are the rolls shown? In the original BB game, we saw Injury Rolls among other types of rolls in the bottom left, but I don't see them anywhere here. Also, where are the options for rerolling? And Apothecaries?

+Krister Andersson Ohh you should see the Goblins there is much more evil stuff hidden in there. Just a small example you got Goblins with Chainsaws, Goblins with Bombs, Goblins with giant flails and Goblins on Pogosticks.

Krister Andersson Yes there are but let's just say that the ref is not the best when it comes to vision or unbrbeability. Basicly the guys with big bulky weapons got that as an ability what in turn means they get send of the pitch as soon as the round ends or if someone scores a Touchdown (i think never botherd to hard with it) So in turn that means if you really have them on the pitch that you should cause as much havok and injuries as possible with them until they are send off. And that's the main gimmick with goblins heck they even get bribes cheaper to foul more reliable.

+Selek I much prefer this way than what they did before, IE : selling version after version of the same game with added races. At least you'd play with the race you like, and stay in the same player pool.

The races in the board game (which has nearly the exact same rules as this game) isn't perfectly balanced either, and that's by design. There's some races that are purposefully worse than the others (most notoriously ogres and halflings), to provide a challenge to experienced players. Also, this is a match between one of the fastest races in the game against one of the slowest, so of course it will look unfair. The dwarves make up for it by being really hard to injure or kill, while a skaven tends to break like a wet tissue if you can catch it.

I think the game should - needs - to be 1 move per turn. Player1 moves, player2 moves, player1 moves... waiting 3 mins for your turn gets boring real quick. And there is no urgency. You just starts each round picking up all your guys. And end it but moving the ball.

Plus on en voit, plus on peut constater la qualité assez... datée de certaines animations (genre le rat-ogre au sol : pathétique... ou les animations saccadées lors des déplacements de certains joueurs). Sans oublier les dés (pourquoi avoir mis la face vers le haut ? Même dans la vidéo de présentation le gars est obligé de bouger la caméra pour lire le résultat des dés 2:11). Quant aux ralentis et aux présentations de joueurs toutes les deux secondes, c'est déjà pénible dans la vidéo... vous imaginez bien que TOUS les joueurs les désactiveront au bout de même pas trois matches. On se demande quand même si c'était bien la peine pour faire ça... surtout avec la flopée de DLCs hors de prix qui s'annonce. Il aurait été beaucoup plus avisé de développer un jeu complet avec beaucoup de races dispos au lancement (genre 15). Et ce bien sûr, sans pratiquer une honteuse politique vis-à-vis des DLCs (au point de retirer deux équipes pour les transformer en DLCs dès le lancement du jeu !). Bref, je suis attentif aux nouvelles au sujet de ce jeu dans l'espoir d'être rassuré, mais plus j'en apprends, plus je suis certain de ne pas l'acheter...

+Napishtim Well, I'd assume most players will play zoomed out much further, so the dice result on the top makes more sense than on the side. Also, the player presentation sequences with card is just a fancy trailer thingie... you won't get that when you select a player. PS, the 2 extra races weren't planned at all at the beginning. They're extra that are still being produced. They haven't been removed from the game to be made DLC.

someone was high or drunk when thinking up this game's design.. has fail written all over it (imho) During the first 10 seconds, I was like.. awesome Warhammer 40K meets american football, the ... slow-mo slaps and dice came out.. the smile turned into frown and complete disappointment.
