I don't typically find myself needing to say this, but: the fact that this guide exists is not an endorsement of this game, nor is it representative of a positive opinion, or a recommendation to buy it. The video was largely prepared using the pre-release version of the game, where the level of monetization planned was obscured. By the time that veil was lifted, I'd already spent quite a few hours making this video, and I figured I should still release it for those who are interested in learning how to play!

What's annoying me even more is just how *buggy* the game is. Text boxes that fly by, telling you someone was injured but then rolling for it afterward anyway, the camera zooming in misaligned from the scene it's supposed to be showing, players T-posing around the field, lag, slow AI...this is an early beta at best.

I hope 6months from now to pick it back upvand have a enjoyable game. people are so upset at cyanide relised a game in such a bad state.

Thanks a lot as always for your videos. As a blood bowl fan with more than 1000 games of blood bowl under his belt, I think a small explanation on the current state of Blood bowl 3 will help those wondering if they should purchase the game or not. A bit of context : the blood bowl community is a small but highly passionate community. While the "regular" player base might be of around 5k players at best(at least for online players, the tabletop community makes the numbers significantly higher), Blood bowl coaches can spend hours debating on strategies, builds, dice rolls, factions ect. For most of the online player base, we've been on blood bowl 2 for the last 8 years. When Cyanide announced BB3 in 2020, we were all thrilled as we saw this as a chance to bring out new coaches to the game (which is a hard thing to do as the learning curve on Blood bowl can be fairly steep, and the game may scare new coaches when they face coaches with several hundreds/thousands of games). We also thought it would be great as BB2 was experiencing server issues on a regular basis. Now yesterday they launched the game officially. This comes after 3 years of development, multiples delays, some "open betas" that were somewhat disappointing. And the end result? As of right now the graphics are honestly not a real upgrade from BB2 (the art changed a bit for sure, but I don't think anyone in the community thinks it's "better"). The game is still very buggy. There are no tools for league play (so you know if you have a group of friends that you want to organise a tournament with, you cannot). The multiplayer ladder (option for "quick games" with random strangers) does not work either. And finally, all the customisation is hidden behind a pay wall that is meant to squeeze as much money out of you as possible (fortunately the changes are just cosmetic, so it doesn't impact your chances of winning/losing games). Now the blood bowl community isn't happy : the game is currently in worse shape than its predecessor BB2. There is currently no aspect in which BB3 is currently better than BB2. For a game that has been teased for 3 years and that comes 8 years after its predecessor, this is very underwhelming. And since the community is extremely passionate about this game, the steam reviews are extremely bad. With that said, in 6-9 months time after they solve all the issues with regards to bugs, leagues and multiplayer, I think the game will be worth picking up. It's actually a lot of fun to play blood bowl. It's a game that you love to hate, and hate to love, and the community is really passionate. When the issues have been smoothed over, I think it'll be worth picking up during a steam sale.

7:20 i am not really agreeing with that one, each back up player still increase the cost of your team. if you have for instance 2 linemen in back up that would be like 100k of value that doesnt take part in the match, which is basically 5 primary skill meaning that half the opponent team has +1 level compared to yours, which would impact the match far more. plus against a team that avoid the fight (like the elves) those back up are completely useless since you wont have that many wound. and against team that activelly try to fight (like chaos) with the +5 skill theyll wound your players far more reliably than you can replace them and the backup too will be wounded. and against the balanced teams (like the humans) yeah you will always be at 11 on the field after a touchdown or halftime but the lack of skill of your players will loose you the match. thats why having back up isnt the best thing, however have substitute can be argue, for instance if you level a player to be use only on attack engagement and another one only in defence (like having a kicker/blocker and a picker/thrower), if you have a player you are sure you will loose (like a secret weapon or a sneaky git/dirty player) or if you cant replace a wounded player that you base your strategy on (like having a second halfling in a human team if you plan on using a lot of teamate throwing)

I've never played before. Played 2nd series of Campaign as Skaven (got destroyed on XB1 ) and only had 3 players left on pitch. Lost almost every Roll in a match that took about an hour (does the AI always take so log to make moves?). Guides for all would be great. Thanks for the video!

I eould like to add that the explanation of armor value is unclear by the use of player as the term, I suggest using defender, it is to the benefit for the defender to roll beneath their armor value to remain uninjured

I bought this game 2 days ago first game in the series for me. I was having trouble playing against the AI to where it would take minutes before they would move a player and even after the turn counter ends it was still the AIs turn for over 10 mins. I’m playin on PS4 any fixes or tips?

Im sure your guide will be helpful to some Party. Madness after all the delays the game has had then to realise it in this state! Ive bb1 bb2 and 6bb tabletop teams, as soon as i coupd i thew my money at them, but had to ask for the refund after 1h 40 mins of frustration. Such a shame cyanide, seem to have taken cyanide after this launch.

I think it should also be noted that if you desire to play multiplayer be prepared for the servers to crash, my experience has been more games crashing then successful, which is extremely frustrating in an average length of game one hour. Generally that looks like 30-40 minutes of waste of time.

While faction guides may be nice, maybe start with an advanced guide on major traits. This is a bit subjective, but you have common roles that need certain skills. Maybe a general overview of each role combined with most used skills? Top skills Block (attackers and ball carrier) Dodge (high agility and any players likely to be attacked) Mighty Blow Guard Tackle (negates dodge) Sidestep or Stand Firm Piling On Wrestle (counter block! nice on weak support) Diving Tackle Jump up (in synergy with last three) Frenzy Sure hands Some skills involving throwing the ball? (never tried those!) Mutations (Claw, Tentacles, Prehensile tail, ... ) Maybe point out which skills never to pick and some niche skills and their uses. Maybe you'd consider Frenzy, Wrestle and Diving Tackle niche. Maybe cover "big guys" separately, how to use one, to counter enemy big guy (or how to deal with one without one and save lots of money).
