Blood Mage Inquisitor w/ Crest of Desire - Build Overview | Path of Exile: Necropolis

I've rolled a new build in Path of Exile's hardcore trade Necropolis league - this is a build overview of my new life stacking Inquisitor build, heavily inspired by ‪@RaizQT‬'s build. This build uses the combination The Untouched Soul, Rathpith Globe and the Crest of Desire to stack a lot of life to scale both offense and defense.

Hey, it's my leaguestarter. Didn't use any of these uniques though. I just ran with replica cold iron points and stacked gem levels. Tornado skills with a lot of gem types so it was pretty easy.

I guess that it's not easy on hardcore but it would be crazy to combine this with 4 maximum life tatoos. 400 flat hp just from that. They cost 80c now in softcore.

Hey Dream. Do you think Dissolution of the Flesh can be a potential item to add? It does remove all ES but it can give you 30% life, then maybe replace the timeless jewel with another one?

Not in this build I think since it's built around having that extra chunk of ES and getting all of the regen from life to also apply to ES. But I think this kind of build could be replicated quite easily on another ascendancy with Dissolution instead of Corrupted Soul, and take advantage of a lack of recovery(solving that with Dissolution, maybe Champion, or a witch build fe.)

Wouldnt the reworked heist belt be good here? Gives an extra socket to scale with and ofc make it elder or hunter influenced, what about the sirus belt?

Heist belt with socket would draw even with leather belt with catalyst(48 life vs red socket for 48 life from catalysed untouched soul). The burden of truth is something I've considered but would need to get the balance of life/es correct as I'm already using corrupted soul, and I think it wouldn't work(83% of non-chaos dmg bypasses ES)

A few tricks I've discovered playing this: 1. Algor Mortis is nice for sap - Frost Shield creates chilled areas and it's pretty easy to get a 20% sap up all the time when it matters. If you find it too inconsistent... 2. Call to Arms + General's Cry + Frostblade of Katabasis creates tons more chilled areas and a warcry medium cluster gets you onslaught and charges pretty reliably. 3. Alternatively, Leap Slam gets tons of stuns (enemies on full life are stunned) and you can even get 50% crit multi against stunned enemies with a mastery (though it's unlikely to be useful where you would want it to be...) 4. Blunderbore is really nice - the minor shrines are good (more life scaline and knockback is great as the tornados follow and push) and it doesn't have a life tag so the 15% increased life mastery isn't wasted.

I'd definitely use blunderbore if I had enough str/another way to deal with phys dmg, but LC is just insane phys mit for the build. Algor Mortis is a nice idea for a full lightning tornado setup using combat focus to block the other two elements, but I'm not sure that I can justify the loss of HP from jewel sockets/no life on gloves etc.

@@dreamcore_gg Yeah that's fair - tbh I started the build life stacking/blood magic but I've moved towards a standard build with more reservations/utility skills as the league went on. Might try life again if I can reach the 10K pure life levels you're showcasing here (I only ever managed to hit ~10k combined life and ES)

@@dreamcore_gg RE: phys damage - the Recover 5% ES over 1s when you take phys damage mastery is quite strong (along with Divine Shield). But obviously in HC, your priorities are very different.

Wouldn't thisnbe great with the new support gem that gives you chaos damage based on your total life? Than something like soulrend or any of the new hit chaos skills? There is the body armor that gives lvls per missing socket right?

You could do that, be losing a lot of phys mit changing body armour though

@dreamcore_gg well if you go for the blood notch, imutable force combo, with life pn hit rings by spells.....you are immortal. Thats 3 hits every 0.25 seconds so 12 hits per second, meaning 120-200 life per second per ring. Add the vitiality watchers eye you are looking at 1000 life per second total. You wont survive uber insane hits, but thats enough to cruise at t17 maps

Id be curious if it would actually be more tanky to use defiance of destiny instead of scaling off of empty sockets. Sure you lose some life but 40% of missing life being regained before you get hit seems like insane recovery

I would use Amplifie and Blast Radius for more AOE (+40%) for better clear and one duration cluster + mastery for 6.4sec duration. Both are huge QOL upgrades IMO. Without, the skill feels really clunky to me.

@@dreamcore_gg Duration is very nice for damage uptime on bosses. Would even be better, if GGG makes the nados spawn at your mouse. 🙃 All in all a good skill IMO. Just needs some damage buffs and the cast spawn buff and maybe cast speed interacting with the damage tick rate. And while I'm at it, replica replica combat focus. Suck to use 2 gem slots for it. Or maybe they make a Tornado of Frozen / Burning / Shocked Turbolence.

Not with Rathpith, as Herald of Thunder does not scale with spell damage or spell crit. You can absolutely life stack and use something like Burden of the Shadows to get a bunch of added chaos damage (note, the staff reads that "spells gain added damage", not "gain added spell damage"). This also frees up your helmet slot, since you no longer care about the levels on Herald of Thunder, and you can use The Apostate then as well. Additionally, you can replace your amulet with something a bit more impactful and fully link your herald of thunder. This will lower your gear pressure of unsocketed gems. You can also then use an ascendancy that works better with Chaos and generic crit, like Occultist.

It does work, but vermillions with catalyst quality provided more life for my build(this will be dependant on how much flat life/% life you have). Heist socket belt is equal to catalyst quality leather belt (48 vs 48 life)
