Looked like fun! Thanks for sharing. The roads are now much better than they were when I last rode in the area in 1985-6. Back then, the asphalt was like a coarse rasp, with few passing lanes. I rode a KZ1100 with a Windjammer fairing on it all over the area around Blairsville, GA. I daily rode through the winter, when it was either 34F and raining, or clear, windy and below freezing. I'll have to put my wife on the back of my K1200S and go ride those roads again.

@@psycotria wow! what an insight! i’ve only been riding Blood since 2020 in the summer and fall and it’s always beautiful. i’m not brave enough to ride below freezing 😂 the roads are smooth and they’ve definitely improved the safety. just watch out for the tar snakes they tend to get slippery. enjoy your ride and be safe!!

... Liked and subscribed. Thanks again for sharing. You did a great job safely navigating the curves. Be careful! The day in 1985 that I arrived at Vogel State Park, on the side of Blood Mountain, I was riding up GA-180 between Vogel and Suches. I came upon a group of riders stopped in the rode. They were from Atlanta, out for a weekend ride. One of the group had overcooked an entry into a blind set of 'S' curves and locked-up his rear wheel. He skidded straight across the oncoming lane and over a very steep drop. Fortunately, he was uninjured, but his bike was about 30 feet below the road, stuck around some big trees. When I returned about two hours later, a tow truck was just getting his bike up onto the road. New bike, totaled.

@@psycotria thank you very much! and wow! i bet that guy thanked his lucky stars after that. it can get ugly pretty quick up there with huge drop offs and cliffs. the main goal is to have fun while being able to make it back home. what a story! thanks for sharing!

Wrong. Those gsp officers are chill asf. They dont like the out of state and/or city boys because they always do some outta pocket bs and crash out a lot. Normally gsp will stay up there during the peak times they come.

I see you said you enjoyed the Q3s in one of the comments You should really look into trying the Q5S you will absolutely love them...Incredible compared to the Q3+ i use to always run 100% track possible but if you were doing track i'd go with the Q5 and get some track warmers roads like TOTD I'm running q5s! 🙏🏻 lovely video man

@@Chrisx093 i’m only running the Q3 because i got it for free 😅 it’s…. okay. it has enough grip for street riding. we’ve been testing the Conti Attack 4s and we love them. for the track i’ve been running supercorsas but might switch to slicks soon. i might have to try out the Q5 though! i’ve heard good things about them. thanks for the suggestion!

Sweet Video. I live near atlanta and ride all these roads all the time. I have a 2007 FZ6 rn but keep telling all my riding buddies my next bike will be a gsxr-750. I love the ones from the 2010s with the Blue Suzuki Racing livery. What tires are you running?

@@ClutchKobo25 Good to know! I'm somewhat new to riding (learned how to ride 7 years ago but never owned a street bike until a few months ago) and am getting used to leaning the bike over. It helps to see what kind of tires people are running to know what lean angles and pace are possible on street tires. I've been practicing in parking lots and can drag knee and scrape my pegs on both sides (depending on how far I hang off) but I'm still slowly working up my pace on the mountain roads.

@@corridorjunior2066 awesome! invest in good tires and trust them! also keep an eye on your tire pressures. that’s good! definitely take it “slow” on mountain roads. they will teach you a lot but they can be unforgiving at times. getting comfortable at lean angles and focusing on trail braking will make it much less spooky if you overcook a corner a little bit. you’ll see a lot of people panic in a corner and straighten up the bike which makes it worse. good luck and be safe!!

@@ClutchKobo25 Definetly going to get some new tires soon and I always set my pressures in the morning before I head out to the mountains. I've been sim racing for many years now and I used to race shifter karts at Atlanta Motorsports Park as well as working as a mechanic for some of the race teams. So I am already very familar with the concepts of vision, line selection, weight transfer, trail braking, all the important stuff for being smooth and safe. Just have to get used to doing it all on two wheels. I'm having alot of fun transfering my knowledge to two wheels and incorporating body position into the mix as well. I've already got some goodies on the way for my FZ6. I got some straight bars to get my body lower. Got some tank grippers to prevent myself from sliding around in saddle as much. Still working on my leg and core strength to hold myself in place and be light on the bars. I've got some more aggressive sprockets to keep myself in the power band. The FZ6 gearing is rather tall stock and I find myself between 1st and 2nd gear in alot of corners. 1st is just too close to redline and 2nd is just out of the power. I'd looking into some suspension modifcations and rear sets now as well. I couldn't decide whether to spend some money on this bike or save up for a beater track bike but I think I'm going to build this thing into a dual purpose mountain run/track bike because right now I don't have a truck or trailer or anything to get the bike to the track so I'll have to ride it to the track as well. I see you've done a few track days do you have any plans of racing? I'm planning on either racing karts again or racing motorcycles but that'll be a few years down the line for me because I've got to get a higher paying job first lololol. shit's so expensive.

@@corridorjunior2066 oh awesome!! that sounds like a blast. i love AMP but i’ve ridden the kart track. it looks so sick. heck yeah! sounds like you’re there man! i just recently changed my gearing as well for the same reason. Road Atlanta made the decision easy 😅 the FZ6 is a good platform and with all the mods you listed it should be perfect for your plans. and i’ve thought about racing but like you said… expensive. i’d like to do 1 season of racing just to try it out but for the most part i’ll probably just stick to track days. i doubt i’ll ever be MotoA level so i’ll just have fun with it 😂
