Blood on the Clocktower - Multiplicity

As much as I'd love to get creative here, I think the best thing I can do is quote Arif from this game, "this is the most SnV, SnV."
It's certainly the craziest game I've been a part of, and I hope you enjoy it even more than we did playing it!
Blood on the Clocktower has widely been voted best game in its genre and is quickly rising in the top 10 and best game lists for social deduction. It is singularly the greatest blend of board game, murder mystery, and bluffing game. It is one of the hottest online and in person games, and has been introduced as a team building tool in both community and corporate settings.

I think that rule (in a Barber swap, the demon can't swap _another_ demon) is there because it can result in 2 living evil demons. Imagine a Fang Gu jumps to an outsider (and thus dies) and then the Barber dies later. The new Fang Gu could target the old Fang Gu and a minion with the Barber swap, resulting in 2 living evil demons and no arbitrary death night to deal with them.

Hungry is snake-charmer poisoned, then gets pit-hagged. Should the poison persist? Snake charmer poison is always weird in that the ability which causes it ceases to exist, yet it persists nonetheless (even if it is a philo-snake-charmer that caused it).

The poison is a result of the snake charmer's ability. Since there is no longer a snake charmer in the game after the pit hagging, the poison effect would also expire.

Massssive spoiler here If JP turned jules into a second demon at final 4, would there have been any way for good to win? They have to kill 3 out of 4 players and I don't see how.

Problem is it leaves the ST King making. Probably Steve kills one demon only, but killing both demons is also valid. Remember that the game can carry on with only two players alive in this specific scenario because of the good evil twin (evil twin is a townsfolk?!) Now, if JP turned *Arif* into the good nodashi, that's a spicier choice. But I think then Steve just kills either Arif *or* Hungry.

Town executes Pit Hag. Both good demons kill themselves in the night. One good player wakes up, and good wins.

@@Ellie-rx3jt The game does not carry on if only an evil twin and their twin are alive, why would it? The evil win condition is active, as there are 2 living players. There is also a good win condition trying to be active, the fact that there is no living demon, but it is being blocked by the evil twin ability. Note that it is established fact that if the final 3 is a demon and a twin pair, evil automatically wins because there is no kill that good can make that doesn't lose them the game. Had JP made Jules into a second demon, evil is guaranteed to win, no matter the decisions of the players or of the ST.

No, if JP made Jules into a second demon then the outcome of the game is given entirely to the ST. Pit hag arbitrary deaths could kill both demons and a twin, auto-winning the game for good, or kill anything less and auto-winning the game for evil

Yeah Dak is wrong at the end, this is why SnV is the *best* base 3 script. Right before hearing that I was also about to comment that this is why Pit-Hag is the best character so here's that -claim- fact

The game probably would have been more successfull for the evil team if JP had just stuck to the plan, but there is no way it could have been any BETTER. This was such a beautiful clusterfuck. I do understand possibly being frustrated by how much it derailed though. And I do hope Arif learned something about claiming Twins if he isn't... buuut... y'know. Maybe I better hope he didn't.

Spoilers: Had JP turned Jules into another demon, there was no way for good to win (3 out of 4 players would need to be dead for good to win, with 2 alive demons, means there is no avoiding there being at some point 2 alive players with no good wincon active). He was soooo close to pulling victory out of the jaws of defeat, he was even thinking along those lines, but he just missed the play by an inch.

dont think that actually works out - so long as they execute the only remaining evil, each living good demon just kills themself in the night and they wake up with a single living good player and good wins

@@SharienGaming The ST might decide based on merit that good wins in that situation, but they would be bending the rules in a pretty big way, if not breaking them, if they did. Demons have a night order, such as the fang gu going before the vigor. If the fang gu is awoken and kills themselves, they are immediately dead and the game is over, before the vigor even wakes. I use that example because Steve talked about it in this game: he was worried the fang gu might kill the vigor because it goes first. Saying good wins here would mean you either think for some reason that demons act and kill simultaneously for some special reason, unlike any other character in the game, or, you think that somehow the game proceeds through the night with 2 (then 1) player alive, despite no mention of that exception ever being made in the rulebook.

@@verdiss7487 yeah my understanding would be that the nightphase still concludes normally but i guess thats a bit of an edgecase, because it is insanely rare that multiple demons even exist and on top of that, with only 3 players still alive... it is incredibly unlikely that there is anything to do in the nightphase after the demon kills someone this game kind of gives me the feeling that the pit hag needs a similar caveat to the witch... like "if only 3 players live, you can not create a new demon" to avoid situations like this, where the outcome of the game is forced down to an arbitrary ST choice oh on a completely unrelated sidenote - does mayor beat vortox? my guess would be yes, because both win conditions are from character abilities and good wins equal ties right?

The evil twins ability specifies the good alligned player in the twin pair. So the loss condition would have been if Arif got executed :)
