What I don't understand is additive and subtractive color mixing of those two would produce an amber color of light. So why not just use an amber light right in the middle of those two on the spectrum they would be perfectly balanced in their intensity and reflectivity. I haven't tried it myself but I'm just wondering because of the additive color blending of red and green produces yellow. So I'm wondering if a sodium vapor lamp being one of the purest yellow lights out there; would have any effect on blood. I question this because there's a couple of hunters out there that also agreed that warm LEDs are better for blood tracking than bright white LED. That would suggest that the yellow inside of the warm color LED is having an effect. You have better access to equipment than I do so would you mind testing these theories and maybe making a video about it?

Its about contrast enhancement by tuning the illumination colors. If you spend some time thinking about the spectral curves it may help you to see how it works.

Will this track cat blood after a dog attack on a cat if washed away and dried by the heat

No.... dont think so. But there is another method. Luminol is a spray you an buy that will show the presence of blood when used with a UV lamp.
