@@boid9761 actually the choir have more respect for byrgenwerth and their thoughts on everything than the rest of the church. Willem would be totally against the church's existence. It seems mensis are trying to commune with great ones through the red moon like Laurence did whereas the choir are to the rest of the church what willem was to Laurence and those who left with him. I'd also bet micolash was one of the scholars of byrgenwerth who left with Laurence to start the church initially. Maybe he entered the nightmare during the red moon that made the Hunter's dream and was waiting for mensis to reconnect w him, but his body has died from so much time passing, and their red moon actually destroys the whole city instead of just old yharnam.

@@Jaden-Ring I just think that without Laurence founding the Healing Church of Yharnam, the hunter wouldn't be able to find a way to evolve into becoming a new Great One. Because you needed to transfuse your blood with the Old One's blood and gain some understanding of the Eldritch Truth before aiming to ascend into the higher plane. Without getting the blessing of the Blood, you aren't able to ascend completely, you will just become a failed experiment like the Kins and the other false Great Ones. The human mind can only hold so much knowledge of Eldritch Truth before it erupts violently, killing the one who acquired such knowledge because of the frenzied madness, hence, the existence of the madmen's skulls brimming with a bountiful amount of tangible Insight inside them.

It's really just a case of superstitious peasants finding ancient alien blood, consuming it, and then turning into monsters instead of outright dying. The curse is from Kos, the blood is its own deal.

Laurence was a menber of the Byrgenworth School,who searched for answers amonst the stars, he then stumbled on something that has left them all very much speechless, a blood vial, but not any blood vial no, this was the blood of a great one, a being of unimaginable power, they feared it because of its volatile nature, not knowing what it would do to humans, later he betrayed the School by abandoning it and starts the healing church solely focused of this blood vial...

⁠@@AsgaardiangatekeeperNo Laurence found the old blood and brought it back to yharnam where he founded the healing church and distributed the old blood to the people across the city, that caused all the main events and the obsession of worshipping the great ones and the cosmos. Kos was discovered after that and only cursed the hunters with the hunters nightmare for when they went blood drunk but again that didn’t cause the main events because this happened after. Laurence was the cause of the main events buddy.

Wasn’t it a real, actual pipe organ? Aka not a sample/midi instrument like this? I could have sworn I saw some footage of the OST for Bloodborne being recorded and there was a shot of an actual pipe organ. It’s going to be much more bass-y because it’s an enormous instrument built into the walls of the building it’s housed in and you can *feel* the vibration in the entire room. That combined with the high ceiling acoustics makes for a much grander, much more…vibrational experience.
