The first phase was majestic almost calming but the second legit scared me. I recalled the orphan's swift erratic movements and the base beat really emphasized his speed. The idea of something moving to the beat made me feel helpless - how could you keep up with something so fast? It makes you feel small and insignificant in comparison. Masterfully done.

This is incredible. Better than I could have imagined. The synths really bring in a emotional string sound to the first phase, and there's that part where it ramps up is exciting and foreboding while still maintaining the emotion. Then the second phase. Metal as hell. With the art, gives me Nosferatu vibes, reminiscent of the section in Dracula where the ship shows up with no one on it still alive. Except now I am imagining it's a whole fleet of ships, and Dracula has some cool shades.

The orphan of kos will always be the hardest main game boss in all of fromsoftware history for me. This arrangement truly encapsulates the feral horror of this weirdly aware being who somehow carries all the pain of his mother and the tortured soul of gehrman. In the end the truly hardest boss in the series has to be the loran Darkbeast. I remember crying and shaking after spending a whole day trying to beat that boss. I never beat that boss because i gave up on it. 😅
