Thanks. I had problems with the two secondary missions prior to this one, so I was worried about the big battle, and it was even worse when I checked on wiki and read that the battle lasted for 3 days and it was confederate victory. On my first try I noticed the right flank of the confederacy seemed to be weak, then I watched your video and achieved a very easy victory.

I managed to capture the objective by moving about 3 infrantry brigades, 1 skirmisher brigades, and 1 or 2 artillery brigades (everything I had put into a severely understrength corp) way around their right flank to the back of their lines. I moved just far enough into the woods to cap the objective and the rebels never moved to take it back. Easy, easy victory.

Another great video. Keep them coming. Love the history backgrounds too. Was wondering if you're going to try a Major General campaign. I just got my rear handed to me as the union on the 2nd mission. lol So many losses in the first battle I didn't have enough to even put up a decent fight in the second. Not sure how anyone can win that.

Yeah I definitely will try MG...I've done a few on Legendary mode and it's crazy hard.

Another awesome victory! Kind of expected it. You had said this one is easy peasy for the Union. Re: Unit name - I had posted my name choice on Discord. I'm an artillery guy, so I'm looking forward to a 20lb or larger. I know the smoothbores are great up close, but I admire the long range precision of a Parrott, James, or Whitworth. Only if that will works for you. Otherwise, any big gun would be cool. Thank you, sir!

Did they change something? I tried to do it your way but only got 12 out of my 20 brigades to attack. got dragged to the second phase of the battle when reincorcement arrived but still no trace of the 8 brigades missing from my 1st corp. Is it a bug ?

Maybe they patched this, but when I try this strategy, massive units come down from the north and I have a bloodbath trying to get to the flag.

I just tried it, it worked. My first corps was 24000 infantry only, I flanked the enemy position and started to collapse. My second corps arrived all infantry except by 4 brigades of carabine calvary and I encircled them and get a Victory. I lost 1000 men and the enemy 5000

So you’re telling me I shouldn’t listen to the advice I got from the in game strategic advice. Because I threw at least 9 brigades at the right side twice and took so many casualties I just restarted cause I couldn’t win Antietam. Took stony ridge tho. With a 1:2 KD

So I've done this with less than 3000 casualties. Don't bring cavalry or artillery. Just 20 brigades of 2000 infantry. Deploy skirmishers from each brigade and send them right up the middle to prevent the defenders from getting into position and send all 20 brigades up the middle to follow. Once you cap the point Just arrange the brigades and skirmishers that fell back to the flanks and run out the cap clock. No muss, no fuss.
