I feel like this has been in my wishlist for years. It probably has. 1 more year is cool, I can wait. I just hope it's a full experience and they don't take any of the negative characteristics that plague the current state of gaming... Microtransactions, Battlepass, Content locked behind pre-orders, Broken on release followed by months of questionable patches... To the devs, if you see this.. Delay it more if you have to. Just get it right the first time and you will be rewarded greatly. Happy to hear about Rik Schaffer's involvement.

It might not have microtransactions, but it surely will have tons of locked content. I mean take a look at any title released by Paradox. Especially Crusader kings. Those game with all the content have absurd price tag. Since the OG devs of Bloodlines 1 were ''fired'' from the team that worked on this game, I can see this being absolutely horrible cashgrab. I mean even animations in fighting look like Mirror's edge from 2009 and while it was amazing game thanks to how ahead of time it was, I strongly doubt it will be the similiar case with this. Not to mention, the whole world looks stiff and empty. The best way to approach this would be if Paradox would sell it to someone else and that someone else would be in close and good relationship with OG devs, especially screenwriters.

only thing is, i'm not yet seeing the humor / dark comedy parts that made the first game so charming. i've heard some people say it would be hilarious if your Elder character could choose dialogue options that show they have no idea about the modern world. like yelling into the cell phone they were given since they have no idea how to use it. like the movie Dark Shadows "i'm doing my dark bidding on the Internet...i'm bidding on a table." energy. i would love to see that

I remember discovering the 1st Bloodlines 3 or 4 years back. Playing Malkavian was astonishing to me. At least TOP 3 dialogues I've encountered in gaming, I think. Greatly written. I hope the "restart" of this sequel brings us something similar in level, just less limited technically. Fingers crossed!

Hey try the Clan Quest Mod plz! It's fantastic and makes the game feel more unique each playthrough. It adds quests for each clan, I believe some new locations, and some other cool stuff. Its been a while but I remember really enjoying it

kind of hope they do at least acknowledge the fact your character will be a elder vampire of 1 of the clans, the closer to Caine after all the more insanely powerful the vampire. Instead of treating our character as a fish out of water generic vamp who just so happens to be superman basically. Unless the story goes down the route of your character being turned centuries ago then being forced into torpor soon after.

If they're looking to have the character get more powerful as the game progresses they can just say they're weakened from torpor and then throughout the game they're regaining powers they're already experienced with. This is a good explanation because chronologically this game's events will probably be taking place over a week or two and so it saves us from having to handwave away a neonate learning powers that it takes a WoD vampire years to master.

In the first VTMB (2004) there's a theory that the sire of the fledgling mixed her blood with Caine's blood (the taxi driver) to preserve balance in LA by using a new vampire (AKA Fledging). Problem is that there's little evidence to support that theory. Except for some elders remarking how the Fledging got stronger since they last saw it.

The fighting looks a bit... off, and I would prefer if the game allows both first-person and third-person perspectives like the OG VTMB. While I don't have a lot of faith in these guys either but the first Bloodlines holds a special place for many because of characters, dialogues. atmosphere and the various solutions to various problems the combat was average at best, so if they are able to pull off the aspects that were good in the first game they may still be able to deliver a competent game.

I do not have any expectations for this game due to the amount of setbacks this game has had. New devs, new writers, people fired left and right, new company switch, the constant pushing back dates. This game is gonna feel rushed. This game honestly suffers from a real curse, VTM1 had the same issues upon release just not as bad as this, at least VTM1 published a game and released it.

I understand that I want too much, and this is unlikely to happen, but I want more gaming clans than in the first part, as well as the opportunity to play as a werewolf, or fight with them. The second part of the game should be better than the first, after all, and not vice versa.

There will be 4 clans initially +2 in dlc. I don't recall all of the clans being unique experience in the first game, i haven't played them all, though, but i feel like ventrue, brujah, gangrel and toreador are mostly alike in their gameplay, so not much of a loss, there won't be malks and nosferatu, so i hope they'll compensate them with new unique clans so we won't have a situation like they did in cyberpunk where your background choice didn't have impact on the game.

To me it’s just weird for it to be snowing I know the game is set during or around Christmas time but it hasn’t heavily snowed in Seattle since the 60s doesn’t that region have wet and dry seasons not four classical ones? Wet and rainy makes more sense realistically and thematically.

I also liked the idea of being a newly made thin blood, I assume they are going to have stumbling around making comments about “horseless carriages” that “move without magic” as a plot of some kind…

It was close to get cancelled, but, who knows who approached whom and then, they let the new studio make the game from scratch, around early 2021 they were ready to publicly say it was cancelled during one of their conventions, because the previous studio couldn't finish their work.

I hope it's good. I like it when games are good and I like it less when games are bad. So far the only change I know anything about, recasting the PC as a recently awoken elder, I am happy with. I believe it makes more sense narratively and cleans up the plotting by removing the details of the characters embrace.

I lost most hope when the writing team were saying shit like; "the first game was a white man's power fantasy" and "malkavians are offensive to neurodiverse." The first game dead ass has characters trying to convince you that communism could work for vampires, it was very liberal and progressive. But they still decides to slander it and pretend it was some far-right-wing fascist game. Track record of companies saying the previous game that everyone loves was "alt-right" is that the new game is total dog shit, so they have to slander the old game to try and pretend their game is better. If you'd be a 3rd Generation, you could just take the city easy and also destroy your whole Clan if you wanted, as some 3rd Generation actually did in the tabletop RPG, some like the Ravnos in the late 90s, others during the Gehenna that took place in 2004, that was when White Wolf ended the gameline, then it was revived in 2011 by Onyx Path that had as a core the old employees of White Wolf. So, it's actually in the name, you're an Elder, someone that just lived some centuries, this Elder was in Torpor for about 300 years, but, that doesn't indicates the longevity. Even a Methuselah would be very, very powerful. Just a 8th/9th Generation is enough to be a threat for the higher Generations.
