He was the first ever movie and idol I looked up to now I'm 10 and I watched him when I was 4 he is in one of the doors in my heart and now I tell my dad can you sign me up for karate please I didn't want to when I didn't know about him I wanted to do boxing so I didn't give up on niether of my dreams so I practiced boxing and karate I use one of them on how I feel boxing is when I'm lost in my heart in my head so I do karate do open a path to my problems it helps a lot even if it seems dumb to other people I don't care because I was one of them I was very lost I lied a lot I only cared about me myself and I and now I know when someone is mad sad or let down I tell them what I did it helped a lot now there my friends and I'm glad they are they help me so much so if karate seems lame to you it's because you are hiding the fact that you are lost in life like me so give karate a try it might help if not talk to someone 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

This...this right here is the reason I’ve started practicing “Shotokan Karate”! I was anywhere between 9-11 years old when I saw the movie Kickboxer on TV in Romania and I got caught copying Van Damme’s training sequences in my parent’s living room lol, and when I came to America in 2000 at the age of 12, my father entered my ass officially into a Dojo next to our first home in America in Astoria Queens lol. The Dojo is still there today and became a black belt in 2004! Thanks Van Damme...!!!

Amazing man, I have been following his training videos during quarantine here in the UK. He's a fab teacher breaks it down really well, so precise in his advice. Most of all is his mind set he puts across "be patient" he says "listen to your body"? Not all shouty and full on, I am 43 and had knee and back issues. I was so lucky to have grown up with van dam...mum was a fan had so many off his films on video....universal solider, hard target, no where to run, no retreat to surrender, back egal, death warrat, double team, double impact, street fighter, Time Cop, cyborg. He was like a personal hero, currently im listening to ultrareve by aaron staring van dam, shows im still and always will be a fan.

Well, I didnt have a childhood when Kickboxer or Bloodsport came but first time I watched those films, I was 12.Now Im 22 and it still kicks ass

@@kar8226 yea true bro! They kick ass!! Legendary films, like you suggest, they're still as impactful, and fresh, as when first released!!. Question: you didnt watch blood sport as a result of watching Cobra Kia by any chance?? Respect for ur comment.

@@thatslife2769 To be honest I also watched Cobra Kai series, I wanted to see actors after years. But hell no! 🤣🤣 I watched Bloodsport LONG before Cobra Kai. From Bloodsport series, Bloodsport 2 was my first watched movie.

@@kar8226 lol ok cool cool. I also watched the Cobra kia, the last fight scene was a straight up homage to blood sport, and kick boxer: the topless fight scenes, straight out of the 80s. They mention Blood Sport a lot in series 3. So, I thought maybe you were a Cobra Kia fan, checking the classics out 😅. I tell the truth, Cobra Kia is sick. Its a throw back! Plus its cool seeing all the old timers/legends from the past like you say. It Got me looking at local karate gyms, like yea, go down there and kick some ass, lol jks. I say one thing about these films, Blood Sports, Kick Boxer! They demostrate, determination, hardwork, consistency, hope, desire etc will enable you to win. (Reach your goals) I reckon most people who watch these films, are born winners, whether they realise this yet or not. This is why 80s/90s movies are legendary, they inspire hope, Cobra Kia is following suit.

@@thatslife2769 I have the same thought. For some people, its just a movie about beating each other. For me its about desire, friendship and hardwork. And we like also seeing how good guy beats bad guy, its a vaccine of testosterone😆Actually, the one who recommended me watching Van Damme movies was my PE teacher when he saw me returning home with beaten eye after school. I was bullied. He also gave me boxing gloves. When I watched Van Damme training with Xian on Kickboxer movie, it was something amazing for mee. To this day I train boxing, I had a few amateur bouts but now Im working abroad(Im from Poland anyway)
