As a Black man who grew up mostly amongst other Black young men, I honestly don't understand this phenomenon of gang violence amongst young Black men. Honestly. The majority of my friends and family are Black yet I don't know a single person involved in gangs, prison, violence etc. I kid you not. The only on thing I can almost authoritatively say is that the absence of a father figure in a young man's life is one of the main causes of these lifestyles. The fear of what my father would have done to me if I had ever been involved in crime was enough to keep me away from these kinds of people.
@BillAjao Жыл бұрын
No present father very much is a major issue 100% and its part of the other main issue here, which I can't stress enough but the relentless and soul crushing constant worry of not having enough money to pay bills, eat well and do things, just do things hobbies and pastimes, seeing your mother full of anxiety constantly due to this and feeling her take it out on you because she can't cope, then on top of that say your 11 years old and this is your lot and for some reason hard drugs are just put in your lap, literally put in your lap and somehow those worries and lack of things you can do are no longer an issue....but then in not to long violence becomes the issue Takes a lot of humility hard work and common sence to work your way back out of that reality and it often means going back to worrying about money all the time...

Look at the stats for crime and ethnicity since the 80s. That gives you the real picture of what has been going on. We can spend our whole lives obvlious because we can only get a narrow view as an individual. When i started looking into local crime reports i was shocked at what was occurring. Nobody is sharing the information. What i know for sure is that first of all, environment is everything, doesn't matter what ethnicity you are. That's proven in Liverpool and Glasgow etc. The root problem is the drug trade. That's why these gangs became what they are today. It's not the same as the 90s. The Cocaine trade took off in major fashion and it's game over. These boys are the street couriers and it's an absolutle neccessity that they are armed and back each other up. They are organised and committed now. And they don't care about life, whether it's others or their own. They most certainly don't care about prison. And make no mistake, all the media glamourising badman culture plays a big role on influencing the youngsters. They want to get money (they think its money) and make a big show on social media. Then there is all this bragging about murder. It's completely f_cked. We have kids as murderers out here. It was never never this bad, and i was on road 24/7 everywhere. Everyone from back then is still alive lol. Now kids are dieing or being stabbed every week. Completely broken. Sadiq Khan and the government did nothing. Sadiq Khan pretended there was no problem. He is a snake only concerned with his own and destroying London
@TheStumptube Жыл бұрын
Similarly, I'm white and have known mostly white people throughout my life (particularly through my childhood and teenage years). Many of the people from my school and estate were violent, hanging out in charva packs and mugging people, taking drugs and generally causing a nuisance. And with multiple generations of criminals, layabouts and uneducated before them, no one can be all that surprised. Parts of Gateshead, Newcastle, and the North East in general, were proper rough in the 80s and 90s, much more so than they are now. Social status has a lot more to do with that kind of behaviour than skin colour. It just happens that many poor urban youths in population centres like London are black, but being black isn't any more a requirement for being a shithouse than any other skin colour.

I lived in Peckham between 04-07 I remember helping out a few local kids with football training and strength work, one time a huge 13/14 year old lad tagged along with a few very talented young footballers he was quiet shy and mostly mumbled about wanting to move to Thailand to study kickboxing, I only seen him once. Years later around 2013/2014 I saw a boxing card low level and there he was big Dillion.

The 'asian' gangs are rarely united by being Asian, you won't find many Hindu and Sikh gangs. They are Muslim gangs. I remember the black street boys and men were starting to be concerned about them decades ago because they were beginning to act like they owned the place. I didn't pay attention to their concern, i thought they were just annoyed that someone else was becoming a force on the streets. Turns out they were absolutely right, the Muslims were getting in gear to expand across London. It's funny they pose as holy when their expansion involved drug dealing to purchase houses.
@brutalbob1000 Жыл бұрын
Incorrect, they are rarely united by being muslim, moreso the same ethnicity where they happen to have a muslim heritage. If that was the case you would see mixed gangs of Somalians, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Albanians, Turks etc which is not the case. These guys all have their own gangs. Also in areas where there are a large Sikh and hindu population they have their own gangs. West London and areas in the Midlands and West Midlands have Sikh gangs and some Hindu gang presence in Leicester

@@brutalbob1000 I'm aware of the Hindu and Sikh gangs, but they were not trying to make a move to takeover anywhere. You are right the Muslims are still divided by country of origin, but if you talk politics to them, they are all united as Muslims and their view of the West, despite their faction differences. I know this because in more recent years, even the most non-religious Turks i grew up with are now become more religious and following the 'plan'.

Even non gang members would be involved in the South London gang politics. Tulse Hill and Lambeth is even worse now. The Brixton gangs are now split into 3-4 different factions who are at war with one another. With the like of Tulse Hill, Kennington and Stockwell aligned with certain Brixton gangs. There have been quite a few murders in and around Tulse Hill in the last 12 months, and Lower Tulse Hill is at war with Upper Tulse Hill. One of the top Brixton gang members was also murdered in Tulse Hill last year. There will undoubtedly be reprisals in the coming months, and each week you hear of stabbings and shootings.
