Gasp, I just realized something. 😮😱 The VRC7+Namco 163+2A03 DPCM combo in this cover makes the sound closer to that of the sound hardware of the Haunted Castle arcade game, as well as the style of that game’s soundtrack. That means that people can make Haunted Castle Style Famitracker tunes and covers that way!😄🤩😎

Nicely done, but the original is always my favorite. Id love to hear a version of the original with that extra part done in the same tone /sound

I've been looking for a project idea, and this might just be it. But I gotta ask, do you mean the European/American NES version of the song, or the Japanese version?
@whoanelly-2 жыл бұрын
@@ballandpaddle Euro/american version. i find the Famicom version a bit "buzzy" where as the US version sounds a bit tighter and bass-ier l, if that makes sense.
@ballandpaddle2 жыл бұрын
@@whoanelly- It does make sense. The Japanese version did the drums and bass differently, and yeah, it's not quite as "full." Man, making Nintendo music is not easy lol

Bangin rendition of Bloody Tears. The drums sound cleaner in this compared to the FamiTracker version, did you do some post processing before you uploaded? I have never used FamiTracker before so I'm not familiar with its features under the hood.
@ballandpaddle Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I make most of these FamiTracker projects into the "cassette tape version" which has stereo and maybe some EQ. The drums all have some EQ to regain some of the lost top end from the DPCM conversion, and the snare also has a transient shaper on it to make it snappier. Purists hate me, but my projects aren't intended for real hardware, more just for listening & exhibition, maybe distributed in cereal boxes on a free tape haha. Thanks for listening!

@@ballandpaddle Well I'm glad you did the post processing because I want to listen to the best it can be rather than complete authenticity. Besides, you've shared the FamiTracker version so they could always export that to mp3 if they wanted to. BTW, I love the fact you put the extra composition from the 16bit games. Bloody Tears is a great track, but the original loop is very short and can grind on your gears like you're listening to the invincibility theme from Sonic 3.
