I know what you mean by the connection and friendship you can have with a dog. Not a human. Not a child. But an important experience. It is hard to lose them. Such great companionship. We’ve lost two in the last five years. And we lost a cat. We still have two older dogs and a new young loving “stinker.”Wonderful companions. Sorry for your loss. Glad you’ve found a new dog.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Silly as it may sound, the grief is the main reason for me not getting a dog. I know myself and I know it would be super tough for me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. No one can say what's right for another person so I won't encourage you to go against what you feel. As my guy got worse, I thought I could never go through this again. But, I have been through it many times and it never gets easier. I also know that for me, the greatest honor I can do for the one I lost is to go to a shelter and find another one and give him a great life. I always have 2 dogs so they have dog company on the ranch. I'm pretty far from everything so my dogs have lots of space to play safely but they also need social stuff. Someday you might take the plunge. My main thought about you is deep gratitude for your kind words and your participation in our little group. Thank you for being the terrific person you are.

Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding. Bonding with an animal, like the humanities, makes us more human. What greater gift than a friend from another species?! Animals are amazing. As a kid I had pity for my friends who never had a dog or cat...thank you so much.

I have an old cat who's been with me for almost 20 years & we've been through everything together. There's no words for these types of experiences. I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. Thank you. I have had cats too and they are EQUALLY special. My cat of 20 years passed about 10 years ago and we were very close. People were always amazed at what that cat would do with me. Having a bond like that is a true life treasure. Thank you for expressing your feelings on the subject. We go on but we'll always miss them. I do think there is a big reunion...

Hi Jasper...I am supposed to get new internet. The phone company is bringing fiber up here and I was supposed to get it last summer. That will greatly boost my horrible upload speed. Right now, it takes 13 hours to upload a decent 20 minute video. Ugh. So now they say that they will be bringing fiber soon...I am hopeful. Thank you. Could you help promote the channel? Hello from Brazil! Sorry to know about your loss. I don't take care of a dog or a cat yet, but I have deep feelings for those little brothers of ours and because of animal suffering I became a vegetarian some 40 years ago. I am getting prepared to adopt a cat, but... I am not ready yet. I enjoy very much your videos on Ulysses and I am still reading it , so I am not going to join the next book reading for now. I feel as if I'm late for a party... but maybe I join the reading of the next one. I have just finished Ulysses 14th episode and I still have to reread it in English before I go ahead (I read it in Portuguese first, given to the almost unsourmountable difficulties for those who don't have English as their first language). A friend of mine just sent me a book reference that looks very funny: ""Ulysses bores me so: first reactions to Joyce's masterpiece", edited by Nola Tully. Do you know it? I think it may help us to justify ourselves when we get mad at the hard work of reading Joyce... Nice to see pictures of your new animal companion. Enjoy it! See you in next Ulysses videos.
