India still has a long way to go regarding shipbuilding. China is already the biggest builder of giant container ships, and it has just built and launched a huge cruise ship for the first time.

India needs to accelerate yes but India doesnt need to many vessels as India is more on the defensive strategy unlike China who is on offensive. For defending yourself, you do not need a lot of firepower but for offensive missions you do. India should maintain a healthy balance of defense and offense so it can focus on brining people out of poverty.
