I tried putting together a food deck but it wasn't very good. I think I tried to put too many BLB cards in. Cheers for this, I'll have another look at Golgari Food again .

Awesome deck! Not sure it would have been enough, but in game 4 you could have tapped both other foods for mana to sacrifice Candy Trail after scrying to draw the Vaultborn Tyrant (since Candy Trail also draws a card with its ability), then with 5 lands and foraging the 3 cards in your graveyard for the squirrel’s two mana ability you could play the Vaultborn Tyrant that turn. Would still be in a rough spot but have the dino in a turn earlier

I tried something like this when the set dropped with camellia in the deck and the rat one with tyvar. Infinite tokens, mana, draw, and a giant ygra you can fling. Its like a 6 card combo so it was terrible but cool to pull off.

I personally prefer running Savor over Go for the Throat, the -2/-2 kills most aggro and creating the food token is also great in this deck

Possible you want a mix of both, but for the most part Go for the Throat gets the job done for cheaper. The main advantage would be avoiding the nonbo with Ygra in play, but with only one copy it's not a big deal.

@@LegenVD Feed the cycle for sure golgari has a power crept removal. I run 4 with 4 restless and 4 mentor for enabling forage and is every game online. I run golgari midrange, this seems a bit more ramp than what I run but try it cause yours seems to have forage online more.

Possibly if we had more Ygras, otherwise there's a lot more Outlaws in Standard than there are artifact creatures.
