What's notable about Parting Gust is that if you Gift a Fish to an opponent, you can permanently Exile an opponent's creature, but you could just cast it without that to blink your own creature out of the way of removal and such to use the card defensively in that capacity, and your creature comes back with a +1/+1 counter. I like it. Cards with flexible effects are quite useful. Especially for 2 mana.

Exactly, it’s a great powered up version of cloudshift, momentary blink, ephemerate. Going to be a lot of fun blinking dudes with ETB triggers. Thanks for the comment, please comment and like my other vids, I love chatting in the comments.

@@BensonMTG I run Yarok as the Commander of a Fallout Wasteland Monster-themed deck, so I know exactly what you mean. I *adore* doubling or even tripling ETB triggers (when I play Panharmonicon)! Hehe~

One of the takeaways here is that "Fish" is a predefined token, like Treasure. See how it doesn't specify its color outside of reminder text? There will probably be more.

Astute. That’s why I ask questions, ppl see things differently. Check out my video on Ral, love to know your thoughts on new Ral 🤩

The wording about creating fish before any other effects is a bit misleading to me. Does it mean that the opponent can cast instant after they get the fish but before this spell resolves the second half?

I read it as your opponent can still respond. The fish hits your opponents side before the next step of the card. So for this one they get fish, THEN you exile a dude. Basically you are exiling opponents creature, they just get fish
