This is awesome viewing from Blackpool's most famous Vlogger, Not only do you show us the granduer of the Promenade,but more importantly the back streets that most people on visits never get to see. its so sad that not only in Blackpool but all around the UK a lot has been left to rot away and become derilict But you show it in sobering way which is quite touching with your choice of background music. Your dulciet blacker's accent gives the channel a homely feel and gives one the impression ude be a lovely lad to sit and have a cup of tea and share a cake with. i always harp back to 1976 when working on the Grand Theatre ,great fun times we had in the city of illuminations... Loving seeing all your videos, You passed where I used to live and worked, and where I got married. Such fond memories but I’m shocked how run down it’s all gone, Central drive was always bad, Never understood the money that has come into the Town all these years yet has never been spent on the back streets, Loved being brought up here loved my life back then, But wouldn’t like to live here now thanks for sharing loved going down memory lane.

The retro arcade is a great idea . Brings back happy memories of when you couldn't walk past an arcade on the front without hearing "welcome to the fantasy zone... get ready!" coming from the Space Harrier cabinets ! Awesome times !

My grandmothers brother, Jim Carroll (I think) used to live in 222 Bloomfield Road in the 1950s. We stayed there a couple of times when I was very young, 5 or 6 year old. I can still remember those happy times and this video brings back happy memories. I looked the address up on Google maps and it hasn't changed at all. My "Uncle Jim" was very friendly with Stan Mortenson, who like him was from South Shields. Keep up the good works, I enjoy your presentations.....Blackpool, warts and all!

Your monochrome photographs are really good. Many childhood memories of Blackpool in the 50's and 60's. Went to look at Barton Avenue where we used to stay and it looked very different to how I remembered it. However, many happy days there.

Really enjoyed this video! Been to Bloomfield Road a fair few times as a visiting supporter. Most certainly a fixture I look forward to when we are in the same division. I know exactly what you mean about the floodlights on the Bloomfield pub. It is light pollution especially with residential houses about but you have to be so careful by a roadside because of the glare that they can provide.

I wonder if you can help me find a location. When I was young, we would come to Blackpool and ride ponies behind the Pleasure beach somewhere. I think I remember riding over that bridge on Osborne Road. There was stables. Another person said it might have been Bloomfield road. Can you or anyone else confirm. We w old ride the horses/ponies down to the beach. Also, there was this big red or dark wall down by the pleasure beach. It looked like something out of Prime Suspect. Gave me the creeps. I m pretty sure it was near the pleasure beach too. It was in the late 60’s or early 70’s. It’s driving me crazy as I’m trying to sort out my memories. Thank you! Anyone got info? 😢
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool3 ай бұрын
Sorry I can't help there. The horses are mainly kept on Marton Moss, near the edge of town. Donkeys are still being kept mainly in the central area of Ibisson Court & Revoe.

Am I right Stephen..but wasn't there some sort of theatre/club very near to the old football ground? Possibly maybe even that old club could be what I'm thinking of,only I remember going to see Slade somewhere around there in August,1972.
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool4 жыл бұрын
There are social clubs either side of the ground. I think one was called the Number One Club. The building which is to become the Arcade Club was one of them.

Ta Stephen! The place that I'm thinking of was on the road leading down to the prom on the right hand side.

That is not the Bloomfield Road I remember (I was only interested in the soccer - football - ground) of a team who had just been relegated from the first division - 1967's version of the Premier League - with a steel stand built by Archibald Leitch carrying a motif on its roof advertising Blackpool Tower.
