bro let me tell you something you will learn within time on this game. Unlike most of tower defense games, this one is NOT based on spamming turrets. Talking about only normal rounds (so no free play because at some point, it start to be random rounds), you usually want to know what is comming next and you want to base your defense in few things like: Single target, AoE, support/buffs and damage type (the last one is less important since most of lv5 towers will be able to break anything. But not all of them). Why is that? For example, on round 98, you have a very dense round of lots of ZOMGS. On that one, you want to be able to stun or slow the moabs (support towers), and have huge AoE damage to be able to damage all ZOMGS at once. But on round 100, since the BAD can't be stunned and AoE is not very effective against it, you want to have at least one tower for full single target damage (something that doesn't necessary has a huge area of impact, but can focus on destroying anything one by one. For example, a tack shooter). With that in mind, you should also avoid spamming towers as it is not cost effective. If you take that vid as example, one [5, 2, 0] spike factory is probably better than all your spammed spike factories combined since it will spare you space, money, and center your damage to a single place (on that case, with huge AoE since it is one of the main properties of a [5, 2, 0] spike factory). Sometimes you may want to spam two or three towers because I know that affording a lv5 tower is not easy and may not be reachable in your current situation inside the match, but as the "late game" approaches, it starts to be more and more necessary. So it is also important to know when you are going to save money to a lv5. In general, you are not going to start the game with one tower and try to directly get lv5 with it because it will probably not be possible, but after going up to some high rounds and start getting a lot of cash, it may be good to start thinking about it. Also, english is not my main language so I'm sorry if anything doesn't make sense.
