Dee Snider said when Twisted Sister first went to England to play at a big festival people kept telling him when you walk out here, dressed like that, people are gonna eat you alive. Lemme, knowing this, and having much respect from the crowd, walked out to introduce them himself, saying they were his friends, and they were a great band. What a cool guy.

I saw Motorhead at the Queen Hall in Leeds in 1981. The opening band was The Lightning Raiders. They were getting bottled relentlessly by the crowd but after a couple of songs Lemmy appeared to a huge roar from the crowd. he was pissed off, told everyone it was a 'bad shit' to throw stuff at the band. A huge cheer erupted again and after that the crowd loved them lol. Got to hand it to Lemmy, he looked after people who needed it.

This is why metal is the greatest genre. The heavy weights we all love show nothing but love & respect for each other. It creates a global family of metal heads. By comparison, look at the wankers in hip-hop & pop, all trying to outdo each other and shit talk their peers.

There have been plenty of beefs in hard rock and metal over the years. I'm a die-hard metal head, but there's just as much pettiness and backbiting in our genre as others, especially in the '80s and '90s. No need to try to romanticize it.

@@keefriff99 There's petty infighting & then there's "popping caps in that n**gas ass for dissin' me". Big difference. When Mustaine was booted from Metallica, did he return with his homies & do a drive by? No. He formed his own kickass band, became successful and later went on to reconcile with Metallica. Rockers & Metallers don't kill each other.
@XxKaosVikingxX5 жыл бұрын
@@paradigm_sh1ft532 None of this has ever happened in hip hop ever. Youre taking one small portion of hip hop culture, which isnt really hip hop as its more trap and drill music culture and using it to generalize an entire genre and culture. Rappers diss eachother over records because its competition and its part of that particular culture. Simple as that. Biggie and tupac weren't killed by other rappers, neither was Big L or Proof or fat pat etc. Ive never heard of a rapper killing another rapper in a driveby. Also The quote "poppin caps in that ni**gas ass for dissin me" is not an official lyric from a rapper so I see that as a racial charicature of how a narrowminded person sees a culture/ genre they do not know. If you only like metal/hard rock thats fine. It doesnt make it fine to talk bad about a culture you have no knowledge in. Rap isnt just about killing and drugs. Thats just a small portion, Much like all metal isnt about burning churches and murdering.

Well, Motorhead began to play and it was already louder than anything my friend had ever heard. Lemmy said "Do you want us to turn it up louder?" and everyone roared their approval.
