Great video guys! I just got a 92 turbo 940 and it leaks oil bad somewhere at the turbo. Making smoke from the tail pipe. A turbo replace is in the works for sure!

the BOV you use sounds like its too tight, witch makes the turbo surge and thats cool atm but in the long term the bearings in the turbo will fail.. on these engines its a Mitsubishi 13c turbo, its good turbos but when you start to increas the pressure it wont last long (pressures over 14-15psi). also these engines makes alot of exhaust gass that are supposed to enter the tiny 2"-2.5" exhausthousing, and that causes pressure in the exhaust and in the exhaust manifold. so you should buy a bigger turbo with 3" exhaust from the housing. also if you want that BOV or another BOV witch lets the air out of the system, you must change the position of the mass airflow sensor, a good spot is between the exit of the intercooler and the entry of the manifold. sorry if my english is hard to understand.. if you have some questions about tuning (cheap and expensive) or questions about other volvo stuff its just to contact me!

Cool, another myth. Compressor surge on lifted throttle DOES NOT HARM THE TURBO.

Also, the bov doesn't matter. Atmospheric venting doesn't matter, factory recirculating doesn't matter. When a factory recirculating bov vents, it vents into the non pressure side of the turbo, so it's useless air. The car doesn't reread it or any dumb shit, because the ecu knows the throttle is closed and stops injecting fuel. It literally doesn't matter. Also, flutter doesn't matter either. That's been proven to be a myth over and over again. You can block the bov completely on any car and not damage the turbo. They are designed to be strained and can easily handle it. It doesn't spin it backwards or slow it, or anything, it's simply excess air escaping through the blades as it cannot further compress the air. It's that simple.

No crazy wazy they replaced a compressor bypass valve with a BOV. Hopefully the ECU will learn and stop stalling and not give you any CEL.

But the only difference is now it'll make wooshy sounds.. Now, I'll admit that my 240 has an eBay BOV that goes woosh but the previous owner put it on and I've been more preoccupied fixing other stuff.

LaKe Productions thanks mate! We're from the US, and volvos are very cheap and disposable where we live so we drift these instead of those mainstream 240sx's which can easily fetch an upwards of 5 grand.
