Blowing a bubble top -- the process is very similar to baking cookies, pre heat the oven to 375 and set a timer for 30 minutes

He invited all of his friends to come and watch if they brought their vice grips and c-clamps. And borrowed the rest. Chad runs a tight budget I don’t think he would spend money like that

Super cool!! This would be a great way to make a sleek windshield for a roadster too! Blow it then cut it to size.

Whale to labor intensive for a windshield when you can just heat and bend a sheet of lexan over a mold

Shout out to Ian Roussel who did this on his bubble top customer car 7 years ago. I think he was one of the first to do it.
@creepingjesus51064 жыл бұрын
Not even nearly. George Barris and Ed Roth were doing it in the 60s. One of them (forget exactly which) knew somebody in Bell Helicopters who told them how it was done, so they dived in and started making bubble tops.

In the off chance you ever need to do this again, flip the frame over and let gravity help you instead of working against you. The results will be even better.

This didn't happen 2 weeks ago. This happened on the show like a year ago. His show got canceled cuz it sucks. Unorthodox unmeasured just crap. The bubbles amazing but it's not even safety glass so it's not even operational to use on a car every day it's just a showpiece. This dude only builds Novelties and lowbrow Oddities.
