Blown Capacitors Galore!

Yea the green ones are notoriously bad. Almost every one I’ve seen in a console has popped or has started to bulge out the top. If you see them replace them.

@@XboxConnoisseur994 also just took apart my xenon Xbox and it’s got the black and bronze capacitors (6.3v 2200uf) and every single one around the cpu heatsink is bulged however the console works. But I’m still replacing them. Gonna replace the caps and attempt rgh1.2 or EXT_CLK

@@IMDYT420yikes, yeah those are probably going to explode soon if they aren’t replaced. There is some soldering required, but it shouldn’t be too hard of a process.

Interesting, I had a V1 Jasper with bad caps and I swear the V1s have more caps on the board. That console only had about 4 that blew up, but still enough to cause the console to shut off immediately.

How Do I Do 8 Blown Capacitors

Any tips or tutorials you could point out to me on replacing them? I have a Jasper, got it new in the box, should be a jtagable Jasper based on mfr, but I have no idea since all the caps are blown and im not able to boot it until then. I removed all the caps, but im having tons of trouble inserting the new ones I got. I believe I lifted the pads, since I struggled to remove them, but I showed an expert and he says still looks good enough to work on. Maybe it's my solder or iron? I've never had to do this repair.

I’m honestly trying to figure that out myself since I’m new to this hobby, but I can either figure it out or find a good tutorial from one of many fabulous creators if you’d like.

@@XboxConnoisseur994 id appreciate that, I dont have the greatest soldering skills. I only know enough to do my own small mods, such as replacing LEDs

@@rob831ah, honestly you don’t have to have the best soldering skills to replace the caps, just requires a lot of focus and dedication.

Them Sanyo's are such pests! My Zephyr which was serviced in 2010 was fitted with Sanyo's which went bad. Luckily was able to recap then. I absolutely love your videos! Just the content I love to see and watch. Will you do a video of you re-capping it? :)

I will when I gain the knowledge and expertise associated with the repair. It’s not too hard of a repair tho, but it does require some soldering.
