Extensions in both Football and basketball where neither coach in any danger of being coveted by any other team is beyond reckless.

Capel trying to run Dukes offense with Duquesne players. I’ve seen 1000+ games coached 304. Anytime a team has 3 ball hogs/gunners and a coach who won’t sub, there’s massive dissension. You can see it in every Pitt players eyes. That causes lack of cohesiveness and a lot of standing around. With four former head coaches on the bench, maybe Jeff and this staff are no longer a good choice at Pitt.

They play defense if/when they feel like it. Their offense is semi-organized chaos that requires 1 or more players to shoot lights-out. They don't/won't or refuse to box out. These are the fundamentals of the game of basketball. When a team lacks in these areas, the problems emanate from the coaching staff.

Great summary. You really put the season thus far into perspective and there doesn't seem to be much hope for the tournament this year. It's a shame because Pitt could have had a really good year given that the ACC in general is having a down year. It will be interesting to see how many players hit the portal after the season.

This roster seems to have serious flaws and ultimately that's on the coach that sets the roster. Results just aren't good enough but Lykes extension into 2030 looks worse every day
