1. Have a clean brush 2. Use a heat protectant 3. Use invisibobble or scrunchies instead of elastics/bands with metal wiring (?) 4. dont dry your hair with a towel washing-machine style, press the towel in instead 5. Detangle your hair with a brush with flexible bristles 6. Have leave in conditioner to help detangling (not treatment, serum etc.) 7. Don’t sleep with wet hair too often 8. Use a shower cap (terry cloth liner) if you're not washing your hair in the shower 9. Have a hair mask - healthy hair, once a month - damaged hair, once a week - in the middle, every 2 weeks 10. Shampoo the right way - only on your scalp, never on your ends

@@EdwardoLover so I recently started watching this guy and I was able to get some of these products, but I still have a question. I take showers at night and I also let it air dry. The only routine I've ever heard of was just shampoo and conditioner but now I'm gonna use the trinity route, so after I shower and spray in the leave in conditioner do I let it air dry fully then add the oil? Or should I blow dry it (without heat protectant I'll buy that soon) and once the ends are dry then I add the oil? I never style my hair I either go with braids or loose bun.

I have waist length straight hair that likes to get tangled after washing it, and I NEVER understood why everyone at my salon was hell bent on combing my wet hair instead of using a brush! I can FEEL all the hair that's getting ripped out, and they struggle like hell, but when I use a wet brush, it only takes a few strokes to get through it. Why do so many salons still use such a damaging method for getting through tangled wet hair?

I'd love to see you hair gurus talking about how much iron and low iron messes up your hair. 1 in 4 women have low iron, and it leads to dull dry hair or hair loss. I saw a dermatologist and he recommended supplements to get my ferritin to over 80 to regrow hair I lost from being anemic. Made a massive difference in hair regrowth, rehydrating it AND it improved the texture too! other nutrient deficiencies can massively affect your hair.

@@beabrandy any iron supplement. In Canada you can get Feramax which is awesome and easy on the stomach! @@reercudiif you washed you hair every day with industrial shampoo, washing it every other day would not be enough to let your scalp recover actually and there wouldn't be a noticeable change. You would need to do a more dramatic sebum cure, which is a really specific treatment where you don't wash you hair for a whole month and you brush it regularly and in specific ways with a boar bristle brush to let the natural sebum moisterize you hair from scalp to ends, not letting the sebum accumulate on top. Obviously it's a really hard procedure that not everyone is cut out for but I did it a few years ago it's a life changer. I definitely recommend to people who have greasy hair problems and WANT to stop washing them every day.

As someone who works as fitness trainer and has oily scalp, face, chest and literally everything, I absolutely hate hearing “you’re doing something wrong washing your hair daily”. Yes, my hair is oily next day after being professionally washed by a hairdresser. And yes, they are 26 inches long and perfectly fine despite of my “over washing”. Hair experts should consider that some women might have PCOS f.e. which increases testosterone production and it affects skin oiliness. If people with oily scalp don't wash it every day, in addition to looking terrible, they will end up with acne along their entire hairline 💁🏻‍♀️

I’m going to be honest. I got my first haircut this week in a year and 8 months. I’ve had a lot going on with a family members health then I was diagnosed with stage 4 hormonal breast cancer. I’m not on chemo but I am on endocrine therapy. I am actually doing really good but in the last month my hair started thinning out on the sides. I follow the curly girl method (I can’t style right now, but still follow the method). I baby my hair. I prefer a dry cut so the only time a flat iron touches my hair is when I get a haircut. I had the stylist go through my hair to help me look for bald spots and see where all it is thinning. I’ve got a lot of hair so it is not noticeable until I pull my hair up on the top of my head. She was shocked with the health of my hair for not getting a haircut is so long. She couldn’t find any split ends. All she had to trim was half an inch of hair that was starting to look dried out. I follow almost everything you said in the video. My hair is the healthiest it’s ever been since starting the curly girl method about 3 years ago. I wash my hair once a week and sometimes longer. I make my own dry shampoo but rarely have use it. If I need an extra wash within a week then I do a co wash or a very low poo shampoo. I do a bond treatment on my hair once a month to 2 months and a deep conditioning treatment every 2 weeks. I rotate my deep conditioning treatments with a hydration/moisturizing conditioner and a strengthening conditioner. Too much protein in my products start to make my hair feel like straw. At that point I have to wash my hair with sulfates to get the excess protein off my hair then it’s back to feeling super soft. Great advice on your video!

Hi, Thanks for the valuable info. Two requests - 1. Can you please make a video on best hair treatments to manage frizzy hair. For eg - Keratin, botox etc 2. Can you suggest other options for leave-in conditioner? The one that you generally recommend is not available here in India. Thanks in advance:)

I've tried multiple times to skip days washing my hair...but my scalp breaks out terribly when I do 😩 if I wash daily the breakouts go away. I'd love to skip days, but honestly I always feel so much cleaner when I wash everything, especially in the summer.

Here’s a tip too- hands off your hair. I notice when I’m home and I don’t my hair as much. When I’m out all week, I touch my hair a lot. Think about how greasy after putting lotion on, after we eat, etc. I have to remind myself to stop touching my hair! It’s a silly little habit but it may contribute to hair getting dirtier much quicker. I have very fine hair so it’s got a propensity towards being oily, but it’s less when I follow this rule.

Such great tips! Practical and not expensive. I wear the hair ties bc they remind me of being a high school and college athlete, and being that fit. Don't know if it's related or not, but I'm a longtime consumer of fish oils and daily vitamins, and I have thick lush hair in my forties (and I color it). Thank you!

The channel is mostly for people with long hair. For example, there is a part in this video where he states that you should not be using shampoo on your ends. What about us guys with dapper cuts and short hair? That's impossible. I wish that short hair concepts can be more incorporated in the language of these videos. This channel is one of the best of its kind.

You’ve inspired me to take care of my care. So I’m starting over from doing very little. I tend to washing between 4-6 days so my hair runs a little oily. But it is constantly falling out. I purchased leave in conditioner for brushing my hair, then I saw your video about dry shampoo. I’m a little confused about when to use the leave in conditioner.

I went to a hairdresser today, after 2+ year break. I wanted advice on how to style to minimize frizz, and was so disappointed to hear the old myths like I gotta trim every 3-4 months to encourage growth, use a diffuser and and curl gel (that they sell) and she styled my hair so that I look like I live under a bridge. No nice blowout for me, and obviously no useful tips on how to style for frizz. She even said I have to use a gentle moisturizing shampoo. The whole time I'm hearing Chris's voice in my head saying "no, stop, wrong" 😂 Man I wish you didn't work on the other side of the globe, it's absolutely hopeless here

Hello as a hairdresser I learned that you should not apply conditioner to the scalp and hairline because this part as you say in your video is not stressed. The second reason why I can not do this is that my hair is quickly greasy after few days. I think Through the conditioner it would favor the still. So why apply conditioner there? Greetings Maria

Do you have any tips for those of us who have "straight" hair, a little on the wavy side, and lots of flyaways? I don't think my hair is damaged, but all my new growth just sticks out instead of being straight like the rest. All hair at the surface just seems to do its business instead of wanting to be part of the pack. Makes my hair look so much worse.

I struggle with extremely oily hair and I realized every time I would take a shower and not wash my hair it would look oily and flat and I have thin hair and not at lot of it so it’s not cute lol but I tried covering it with a shower cap but like you said the moisture would still go through and I honestly given up on trying to have nice hair but now I’m gonna go get that shower cap you mention and will be washing my hair brush, thank you! I have this weird old thing that's like a mix between a comb and a brush, it's like a comb with 3 rows of teeth, and it's more flexible, and I've always used it more than anything. Now I know it has one big advantage, in that's way easier to clean than a regular brush. I haven't used heat styling in about a decade, but I still had a lot of split ends. I found the secret is to have my hair tied up somehow at night. A braid, putting it in a scrunchie or bandana, it's great. I've never really thought about a hair mask because the shampoo I have is really gentle and hydrating, and I was fortunate to have a mom who taught me how to wash my hair the right way. I just worry about allergies as all the face masks I've tried except one has given me allergic reactions, and even now, my roommate used a scented shampoo and it gave me a migraine, so basically, unless the brands I trust make something and sell it locally, I tend to avoid it. Andalou Naturals, and Carina Organic have been the only things that didn't destroy my skin, hair, or cause migraines.

I used to always have frizzy hair after I cleaned my hair and one of the best advice I could give to have straight hair is to use oil, any type of oil that you like or hair products right after you get out of the shower and brush it, it could help a lot if you could let it dry naturally, but if you don’t have the time and have to blow dry it, try to do it with you hair down and use your blow drier from up down movements, hope it helps!! Oil is the best thing you could use for your hair, coconut oil for example

I am so glad you made this video. I was wondering if you knew about any natural remedies that is similar to your trinity method. I understand using naturally raw products to make shampoo and conditioner is a bit unrealistic because getting your hair really clean is an important routine. That’s why I am leaning towards more natural remedies for leave in conditioner and hair oil. I understand you are a hairstylist and probably don’t know much about natural raw products. But if you know anyone you work with that has an answer I would appreciate that too! Thank you again for your amazing videos

Belated question so if this goes unseen, I’ll try to keep asking until I get a response. No biggie. But what sort of hair methods, cleaning and care, can I follow after workouts. This might be controversial but I only wash my hair twice a year. I use a SLS-free shampoo bar and conditioner. Hair transitions to no washing, and it doesn’t smell or get oily. It’s brushed daily with a Headjog brush to protect it. Occasionally I oil the length and ends with jojoba oil. I don’t use any heat. I wear it in protective / retentive styles (bun / plait). It’s waist length, super shiny and healthy scalp.

I'm a natural blonde with very dense hair (somewhat fine strands, but tons of hair). I follow these rules consistently. I don't have issues with dry hair or excessive breakage, but I have MAJOR static issues. It's worse when my hair is shorter (less weight). My issue is I love a sleek bob. I've found very few product I can use because my husband is very allergic to coxonut and argan oil. The best preventative was argan oil. Second best was coconut oil spritz. I deep condition every third month or so. I live in Arizona, but the static was even an issue when visiting humid areas like the Virginia coast, Florida, and even Hawaii! It even gets worse the day before I wash (no more frequently than every three days, usually, I try to go four). It's a 10 was causing hubby breathing issues. The blonde version seems to lack allergens (no argan oil), but it's slightly less effective. Things that work that don't make it impossible for hubby to breathe: It's a 10 (for blonde hair), friz-eze (not very effective), Abba heat protect spray... that's it. Those are my only options that don't make hubby sneeze, and they're still not quite enough some days. I'm open to try anything new. Even my cosmetologists are out of ideas because most products have ingredients I can't use. It's very difficult to figure out because my hair is quite healthy, not processed, and isn't dry or brittle. 😢
