Life always finds a way of putting personal dreams to the back of the priority list....I have my high school '86 GT that has needed to sit while my young family takes priority....however...knowing I'm going to eventually get to it and in the meantime still slowly collect parts-it really is my escape and sanity to have that big dream. You'll hear so many stories about giving up on or losing a "dream" and selling it only to realize how much they later regret it. Don't lose your dream man

My favorite build was my 332ci engine, 10:1cr, 28oz balance, TW 170 heads, custom cam, TF Track Heat intake, 3.73 gears, etc. on my 90 notchback that put 380rwhp/400rwtq to the wheels. This car was super reliable, have excellent street manners and ripped when I got on it.

@@BREW2LFOXBODY yeah man. I really like to see people put thought into their builds and lay it out. We all learn this way. So many guys jump the gun on parts, especially cams and heads, both of which you covered. People really need to understand 2 things which I don't think are stressed nearly enough. 1st, the cam is literally the heart of your engine, and will dictate so much of how your car drives and responds. It's 100% the character of your car and can make you love or hate your car. 2nd, the heads you choose are how you pick your cam, and if it delivers on what you're after. They're supposed to be a matched set. Heads cover the potential flow, and the cam controls how the power gets there. Flow dictates peak efficient lift, e.t.c. Anyway, I'd love to see a dyno graph of your combo. It's not just about power, but the curve and delivery of the cam profile and flow of the heads at the top. You know, break it down Holdener style 😁

I used to have a 94 gt had ported gt40 iron heads on it from the cobra not the p ones and it had a real 94-95 cobra intake w the elbow made into the intake and it had a 1 inch spacer on it, stock ho cam and springs and I had full catless exhaust including equal length shorties and 373. It was a stout car for that simple of a mod list. 5 speed car. It was Def fun when it ran right had 1.7 roller rockers too. Had issues w it and then the cops ended up taking it from me for something stupid long story but yea lol. I now have an 07 gt500 with a gen3r pushing north of 750 to the wheels it's wicked. Would love to have me an ol pushrod car to tinker with again so much I would do now that I couldn't then or just didn't know about. I thought you had to have top end everything to have a fast car these channels have shown me otherwise. That 94 with a nice cam springs and boost would have been nasty. Had a 95 with a 10.5:1 347 in it with a trickflow hci that was 302 sized parts other than the stage 3 cam it had. Bought it build that way it was all forged with a block girdle. It would have been nasty w boost but back then people would say 10.5:1 was too much compression. It would have been nasty man. One of those on3 turbos would have made it badass too.

i would give it a try if I had the resources😅I am just starting in on bringing an 89 gt back to life..I have to pull the engine to fix the shock tower issue, so while the engine is out.....hehehe oh boy turbo.....(installed a few on my kids Hondas) so yeah Ive thought about it, but I will probably go with a 347 kit for now and maybe some of the junk yard bolt on stuff once I get it on the road...or maybe a stock rebuild and a very mild turbo on 8 pounds or something...I need to price all that out on the lowest end...of course if I put my money into the engine for now, I can always do the turbo later. Excellent work here man!!!!

Some 17” turbines would be sick!!, if they made them. I think the calypso may be getting rebuilt, i think I heard that.

@@BREW2LFOXBODY lmr needs to get on that. I believe they would be popular on 80s foxes even 90s foxes. They do look pretty good I think they look best out of the stock wheels back in those days.

The closest ford modern transmission you can us with a 302/351 is the 6r80. 10r80 requires gen3 coyote with a complete wiring harness.

In the early to mid 90's none of us wanted automatics. They sat at car lots and dealerships. Only the "posers" drove them. We all wanted 5speeds. Still have my 89LX 5 speed that I got in '95, and my 79 Cobra thats t5 swapped from the SROD. Now.....I'd def buy an auto foxbody for a daily.

Bought a brand new coupe 5.0 manual trans OfCourse in 1989 at 18 years old bought every bolt on available at ramchargers very fast daily driver up to 1993 racing other daily drivers hardly ever lost a race Car got stolen I lived on the border of Detroit Thought for sure ford was going to offer a 351 In 1993 in the new mustang when the comaros firebirds and corvettes and all the other manufacturers were stepping up there game.Ford let me down big time looked at a used cyclone, firewhawk wound up buying a Slightly Used 1993 corvette manual trans OfCourse added bunch of boltons The vette beat up almost every daily driver mustang easily unless it had Nitrous it had no chance. but I always had a soft spot for coupe Foxbody. Bought a 1993 coupe 5.0 in 1995 Added a turbo which was unheard of back then kept it a sleeper when it was running it was a super fast street car for those days Kept blowing head gaskets and tuning problems still have it life got in the way can’t wait to build it again no more power adders. Old now with kids now just want that old school sound I can cruise RELlABLY burn some rubber and remind me of my early years cruising and racing on telegraph and Woodard. Cam,heads, gears, shortys 2and quarter inch Exhaust and 2 chamber flow masters for that Classic old school N/A 80’s early 90’s 5.0 sound so I can pass it down to my kids as a Heirloom . cars are just too fast now to compete unless you get serious work on your fox I never thought I’d say this but street cars are just too fast now back in the 80s early 90s It was a lot harder to make a streetcar have more than 350HP so it made more of a even Playing field whether you were Rich or not you We’re competitive The Cars were slower back then , but the racing was much plentiful and more fun Like I told my son, would you rather be on varsity and ride the bench or play on JV and play the whole game and be competitive and most of all have fun

It can Def be either one although I've always been manual or nothing and I still am. That is just what I love. However if you have an auto like the one in his car with a nice stall that can Def be a badass car and way more fun than they are stock they were so sluggish stock back then. These kinds of mods wakes them up. I just love being different and driving a stick shift well these days is Def different lol.
