The distributor grounds to the block only in a self exciting system! (Circle track cars and those needing external starter) When you move the distributor the computer is recognizing that as if the engine is running.(if the key is on after a stall the fuel pump stops) There is a constant ground on the distributor thru the drive camshaft mesh, cam, bearings.

I have it somewhat worked out in my head how to convert these to OBDII with junkyard stuff. Beats all that guessing crap, possibly smoother running, and tuneable. I wish I was in a position in life right now to get a Fox and really sit down and figure it out and do it on youtube.

If you hear intake pops then why not throw Mr. Fusion on there and see what’s up? Also if you’re swapping injectors don’t forget that the explorer 19lbs have 4 holes instead of one which is nice for reliability as they won’t clog up.

I have that same issue with my tie rod on the driver's side. Needing to get in there and tackle the whole front end, with the 5 lug swap all around. Steering rack etc.. ugh. Rims are looking great! Love it.

Looks like a Cobra. Just need the interior redone. Would you found a Ford Motorsports gauge package? I know they are rear and I'm not sure what they cost used. But they could be a nice touch for the dash. It would be cool if you could install a set of Dakota Digital, Speed Hut, or Auto Meter gauges. But, I would rather found that Ford Motorsports 160 MPH gauge package.

Salt and pepper shakers are prone to issues as well. I’d take them apart clean them and grease them. Make sure the contacts are clean.

If the injectors didn’t fix the problem try using a different MAF sensor if you have a mass air car can’t remember year of this car and donor car. I was chasing a problem similar threw parts at my fox and it was the MAF the whole time after I changed it.

If you pull the disruptor out and leave it plugged in, turn on the car and spin the shaft the pump will turn on. And it will send a signal to the coil. Those are the noises you hear

Bro, im so hating on u over here! But in a good way! Im so happy u have done this journey and shared with the world. The past few mechanical aspects in a properly running car i have bit my lip on. Ur chasing the wrong Ghosts, but all was needed anyway. Remember brother, u start from ground zero and move forward. U cant always budget to the grave. U could have a cracked porcelain on plugs, a arching tear on wires, a injector clip contact failure, a weak fuel pump, timing chain stretched, injector o-rings or any other gasket they maybe worn and failing. Any engine will act up even if the most simple things are to gone. Just buy a intake manifold gasket set and fuel injector o ring set. Base idle reset, tps reset, etc. O2 sensors looked like shit and beat up. I have been messing with FI cars my whole life. Only thing EVER, a bad O2 sensor will do is shoot a code and u will run rich. Freshen up all gaskets top end, hoses, o rings, BIR, along with timing and i bet she runs like new. I dont have faith in Mr. Fusion like u do. I run my motor at idle and spray a soapy solution of dawn and water over everywhere. U see a bubble if a change in idle. Its BINGO!
