My dad was a mechanic and didn't teach me anything, i would try to learn and he told me to be a nurse like my mama. I'm doing my first build and learning what i can from channels like yours and many others. It made my heart swell when you asked your little girl "Wanna weld"? My dad would never, you have a great little family Brew. On to get me some subframe connectors

Your dad was a smart man, lol. Seriously this trade sucks these days. He probably saw where it was going. I tell my kid to drive out work on trains, that’s what he’s into, just don’t work on cars for a living, it beats the crap out of you and you make change compared to what the dealership makes you work in.

Same here except he wasn't a mechanic officially but did it as a hobby. He built up cars and trucks from the 60s and early 70s and didn't show me anything. I learned more about cars working at the local oil change shop. What I learn these days is from channels like this. Teach your kids the basics at least, when they're adults, it'll save them money on repair bills if they can make the repairs themselves.

Just installed some MM connectors in my stock Foxbody a couple weeks ago. Very noticeable difference in ride quality, it's so nice not having the car creak and groan over bumps now. Really looking forward to doing more to the suspension later, planning on doing the full "kit" front and rear. Was also my first time welding, came out good - I will mention there's a couple tabs on the passenger side that run very close to the OEM fuel lines that can be very intimidating. Thanks for all the helpful videos, have a good summer.

I know I haven’t made a comment in a long time but me and my 10 year old daughter always enjoy watching your videos. Hell I really believe my daughter enjoys watching your videos to learn how to drive a manual. I have a 2010 Z06 6 speed and out of nowhere she says dad I don’t want to drive the Malibu no more I want a learn how to drive the corvette. So I asked her what made her decide to ask me that. She said our buddy on tv that has all the mustangs drives sticks. All of his cars are sticks😂😂. Hell she’s coming with me to Augusta, Georgia to purchase my second Mustang. I already have 89 Mustang GT Fox body that I’m restoring and now gone out to Georgia to purchase my second one. It’s a cobra replica a beautiful, teal green five speed manual. It even has the replica cobra rims on it. but anyway me and my daughter always enjoy watching your channel with you and your family. I don’t know if you remember but I’m the guy they always said you need to run for president😂😂😂. I’m not gonna hold up too much of your time so keep doing what you’re doing, brother me and my family love watching your content because we see the passion you have for your craft. So much love and respect from the Jobe family and once again BREW2L for President 💪💪❤🇺🇸 We the people of America deserve a real president😂

Man I gotta say, I’ve had two hatch back gt’s foxes, now I’ve got a 95 gt and it feels so much more rigid than the foxes and my rear sway bar is gone. Don’t even know if they do much of anything, now the newer car does have lowering springs on it but yeah, it feels tighter, like just cruising over small bumps or road irregularities. It doesn’t have that wiggle the foxes I had before did. Should probably put some on my new car. Thanks again

I made some full-length subframe connectors using plans I found on the internet years ago...1x2 .120 wall rectangular tubing... I can put a jack under the very front of the connector and get the entire side of the car off the ground. If you have a welder, I highly suggest building them yourself, they'll be better than almost all of those aftermarket ones (that are NOT full length)...just my opinion... other than that, nice job on the vid Brew2l.

On both foxbody convertibles I've had, I can tell the difference driving the car after installing subframe connectors. Feels like the car is more solid and the doors sound different when you close them. Recommend this as one of the first upgrades, even for a stock daily-driver/cruiser.

@@thesandwich9000 Put torque box reinforcements in my vert last year...even recorded portions for KZbin purposes but have yet to edit and post. You have to cut the spot welds and remove the rivets holding the rear seat support then it's just like a coupe.

🔔😎 The subframe connectors that we used to manufacture and sell had about a 3* bend in them so that they fit tight on each end and against the seat supports. Were made to fit a brand new car that wasnt tweeked. No gap welding needed. **** BTW when this video posted it said 19 minutes.. yet there were comments 4 hrs old. YT is still not notifying me of any of your new ones. 🤔

Does being raised up in the air on the lift cause the body to flex differently then just sitting on all 4 tires? Is that why the gap was there ?

@benwebster3930 19 күн бұрын
They say you gotta lift the car by the tires to get the subframe connectors on right. Is this true or not?
@AndyA60440
@AndyA60440 20 күн бұрын
Sorry for a critical question, but I thought that the car should be supported on the wheels with the suspension loaded when welding up subframe connectors? Supported on the frame the body could be flexed differently than if you were going down the road, and you want the car frame locked in position like it would be tracking on a flat surface. I saw you have the suspension hanging. I watch a bunch of your videos, and I figure you've heard this said before, so what gives? Is your opinion that it doesn't matter?

Nice video, I'm having subframe connectors installed on my 1989 LX 5.0 convertible. If any Fox Body needs them the most I would say it's verts and ones with T tops, followed by hatchbacks. But even sedans will see benefits as well. On another topic, I'm restoring a 1987 Mustang GT convertible, which was sold with AOD transmission. My LX is a 5 speed and for me, the auto GT is for my wife. Has anyone released an improved and/more modern automatic transmission that has more gears, etc? For example, my new Ford Explorer has an automatic with 10 gears so it maximizes the engines power band. I know many people switch AOD to 5 speed. But having only a 3 gear auto with the 4th being overdrive is definitely a bit dated. Thanks
