We finally got the new transmission in the foxbody. AOD with 4r70w internals. We had to make some changes to the TV cable in the next video along with a governor change to fine tune the exact wide open throttle shift points.

With these cars it's different being auto with newer mustangs it's different being manual everybody jumped on that 10 speed band wagon lol. I prefer a stick but you can Def make an auto run and make it fun much more than stock. The old autos suck bad stock imo.

Gets boring, i would rather have a 5 speed,more fun,had a few aod one is they dont last!especially with the tv cable going out of adjustments,two is the price of a good aod is easy $3,000+++ not the junk boxs on ebay.me personally, 5 speed, 410,a little shot of spray besides the cam,exhaust, suspension etc.fun weekend car.if i want a drag car aod

Nice work! the direct drive shaft makes them shift instantly I like how it sounds and shifts with the Wide gear set too. If your ever interested in how the one piece shaft works in the AOD I can tell you it’s smoother and not as aggressive in its upshifts. So if your into the tire busting between upshifts than your better off with the two piece shaft. Thanks for the content once again good stuff.

@@awee5816 Yes for the 4R70w but not with the AOD it’s weak and it will break much easier I know this from experience lol.. There is a 300m shaft for the AOD that is much tougher by far and will last.

My Lentech AOD rated for 800 Hp A well built AOD can take it with the proper build. Definitely add external cooler to keep fluid cooler.

WTF! AOD transmission on a Fox 🦊 😃!!! This is a New Content cultural breaker in the Fox body 🦊 community. That would be weird to see content on an AOD with an E-brake. I'm not sure if you can Use those for a Daily though. Another 🎊Surprise🎉 is to see someone install a transmission cooler radiator. There's no content on that for Foxes and the different types of AOD transmission coolers. Also a strong input shaft and the difference between stock, 2 piece, and 1 piece. What the difference between lock up and non lock up converters and shafts.

I used a flush gun and acetone on my lines. It worked great and fast. I took all the rubber lines and o-rings off and flushed the cooler and lines separately. For whats ot worth it worked great for me.

My first fox was an aod. Put a b and m 2400 stall with shift kit. Just fbo 390 gears. Kicked some ls1 ass back in the day

How is the shift timing? Do the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts happen at the same RPM at WOT? Part throttle? Minimum throttle? Likely not, and that is why the 4R70W gearset wasn't ever a really good idea for the AOD. The best AOD setup is to be set up for a conventional open converter(one-piece input and C6 converter is an example) and a good final drive ratio for the application. If you NEED the 4R70W gearset, install a 4R70W and get all the benefits of it with programmable shift points, line pressure rise, and TCC - it's become quite available and economical and is a better unit overall.

I won't build a early aod for the main reason the overdrive band is small and are prone to burning up and you can't use the larger aode/4r70w band because of the case. That thing seems pretty stout though none the less

FYI, the W in 4R70W means wide, as in ratio spread, the AOD/AOD-E is a narrow ratio gearset . Great content.

Somtimes it seemed like it would almost skip over 2nd gear, so I said that's enough of that, Im swapping to T5! Now I kind of want to do a built C4 or Turbo 400 swap for drag racing!
