Marlene Dietrich's sole Best Actress Oscar nomination was for "Morroco" (1930). "Shanghai Express" (1932) was a Best Picture nominee. That the Academy had ample time to honor her by the time she died at the age of 90, but didn't, will ALWAYS be an embarrassment!

I’ve just purchase the Powerhouse films version of this in the U.K. What do you think of the restorations specifically?

I think that the restorations and the video transfers for the films look phenomenal. I hope you are enjoying that edition. I think the picture quality is the same on that set and this set. But, I'm pretty sure the extras are a little different between the two sets. .
