Guys...it's not rare. Understandably, most overseas fans won't get it, but a lot of variety shows in JP are filled with this type of snarky and witty humor and behavior, some even to the point of getting borderline personal with the hosts and guests at times. They trend on Twitter a lot when a lot of laughable moments happen, especially in late-afternoon shows, when everybody's tuning in. I don't mean to diss, I just want to put some enlightenment on the age-old stereotype that "JP show culture is really polite and formal". It's really not all that. A week of immersing yourself in most of the JP mainstream media culture will tell you that it's really playful and bubbly a lot of times.
