Oakland is or was a HUGE military installation. I’ve spent time in Alameda NAS. 7th street. We were home ported in Concord. We also got renovations at Pier 50. We had to move onto a berthing barge for about a month. The enforcement of no liquor the ship normally enforced was a lot more lax on the barge lol. Blumenaur and I would stand atop and take down a whole 5th of jack. Practically sitting on the San Francisco skyline. The Oakland Bay bridge you could reach out and touch. Until we got to the bottom of that bottle... Bay Area equals military town

Kana D. Anti military city? Are you on crack? SF Fleet week brings in more spectators than any other blue angels show every single year. Not to mention NAS Oakland has left its trace and we have all sorts of naval museums that are loved by everyone here. EDUCATE YOURSELF
