Y'know, something strange just occurred to me. ...why is everyone's name written in Katakana? Isn't it normal for names to be written in Hiragana and Kanji, Katakana usually being saved for foreign words or special effects? None of these names are foreign, they're all Japanese, why are they in Katakana? Am I missing something here?

I may be a bit late, but people do sometimes use kana for their names. It usually only really applies to girls to give off a cutesy vibe. Or sometimes if the kanji is too hard to write people will just use kana in informal situations.
