i think this analysis is sooo good and it's really interesting to me all the different analysis that ive saw, personally i think the blue represents an attempt of happiness (like the song get free) and time out of the relationship to retreat and find peaceto nature, i think the green and gray is a true neutral colour, and the song is about moving on and accepting that you might not feel the same agian. my favourite lyrics are 'You can't be a muse and be happy, too, You can't blacken the pages with Russian poetry and be happy"and that scared me'' i've heard Russian poetry often has quite dark themes and the idead of blackening the pages with it is amazing imagery, i imagine the black page represents herself and that you can choose to not fulfill yourself with sadness and pain, beacuse if you do you simply cant be happy!

New fan here! Thanks you so much for this! 🧡 You are helping me understanding and reaching interpretation layers that I knew existed but couldn't get to know them. Also as a Lana fan, I feel this is the kind of analysis her works deserves. An interesting note is that for me the colors that they are painting the banisters on the video seems more blue than grey. But the grey filter makes it seem kinda grey. So that may change some of the interpretation, specially with her painting the green leaves, that for me also means "hope". So if that's true she is kinda going backwards or struggling with going full green or grey, which would be understandable. I am also loving your interpretation that she is healing, not just being sad but progressing and being in that grey area that many of us have gone or going through. Also the album is out! For me is one of her most powerful and mature works yet. It would be amazing to know your opinion and analysis for some of the songs some day 🌟 Bye!

aw thank you for your kind words! 😊✨ that's a rly good point!! the paint is kind of "blueish", you're right that would suggest she may be going backwards a bit, which would be understandable as you said i also like what you're saying about the filter making the paint look more gray, that's def something to consider! i wonder if she made the paint resemble blue AND gray on purpose? i didn't mention this in the video but i also love how the green of the plant is poking thru the banisters...all the colors there together! this album is def something else, i agree✨

I'm really moved by Chuck's close-up in this video, which for me shows a real moment of doubt and fear. Pregnancy is also a transitional state (I wonder what colour Chuck imagines her banisters as, right then), and I like that deliberately, or not, Lana acknowledges her sister's mental state, along with her own. I think she is trying to give as well as take from her support sisters.

it’s not just you!😊✨ for me there’s also the lyrical context where the gray paint was associated with her friends who are in this video while the blue was associated w/her ex only, who’s not portrayed in this video that’s why i’m more inclined to believe it’s gray, but as someone else pointed out in another comment, it’s blue-ish gray (for them it looked blue but with a gray filter)
