Your videos have reached my neck of the woods now. My mom grew up in a small house that used to be at the north side of that dam. It was also hot when I hiked through there in 2015, 100 F at 1 PM when I left Burney Falls. I didn't use my sleeping bag any of the four nights between Burney and Castle Crags. Lots of poison oak north of McCloud River.
