Blue Crabs, Almost Caught The Thief

Blue Crabs, in this video we'll be setting our Blue Crab Traps (Pots) in the Indian River Lagoon. We baited the traps with mostly chicken.
After letting the Traps set for 2 days we pulled them. When we got to the last 4 traps I noticed that 3 of them were moved, pulling those traps our suspicions were confirmed, someone pulled our traps, moved then and stole our crabs. We still ended up with enough Blue Crabs for a nice dinner.
When we returned home we just boiled the Crabs whole with some vegetables for another great Blue Crab Dinner. Catch and Cook

Got a heavy heart today Sam and Joyce when I watched your video. I see the enjoyment and love that you and your wife have for one another. I was really looking forward to doing things with my wife like y'all do. Unfortunately Wednesday January 3 i lost my best friend to a simple procedure in the hospital. However, when they go out of their way to steal from trap after trap well that's just outright meanspirited. Don't let it eat at you too much and try to forgive the theif or thieves their ignorance of other's efforts and property. You're good people and I hope good things happen for you moving forward.

Chicken is a good all around bait. For salt water and freshwater fishing. I despise outlaws. I have run across them a few times. One time I did call the Game warden and they were caught red handed. Those crabs look very tasty..

I use colored zip ties to "lock" my the doors on mine, And I switch colors each time I go out so no one knows which color I'm gonna use. At least then I know for sure if they have been robbed because i've had traps move in bad weather.

I thought about using zip ties but then I realized they would prevent the escape mechanism from working and our traps would be illegal. I might try some degradable line, that should be legal. The reason ther are so many funders is cause you can't keep them . Anything north of jupiter you can't keep them so there numbers go unchecked, they are also very large. If you go catch puffers in jupiter they are all small. Fwc needs to change the regulations on them and alow us to keep them again

I thought we did pretty well just after getting robbed, to me its just like he broke into our house it's actually a felony to pull someone's traps. We never get so angry that we use foul language I just get disappointed in some people especially fishermen because I used to be a commercial fisherman. Thanks a lot for Watching our videos.

Y’all did exactly what anyone else would have done. I absolutely agree with everything you did an or said. I hate a thief a your right it’s just like someone breaking into your home. You both are awesome an I’m so sorry you have to deal with folks on your channel who think they can tell you what to do. I say if you don’t like it then don’t watch it cause you’re going to do a say whatever you feel like as long as you like! It’s your content!!
