I agree. Too many people are getting 'what they did' mixed up with 'how they did it'. It may be the weirdest product design I've ever seen, but they perform it almost flawlessly. That almost seems like a greater accomplishment than playing music everyone already knows well. It takes some real ethic to get down the kind of crazy sounding books BD gets.

I completely see what you're saying. Although I have to say that there is a difference between "a little rough" and down right dirty. This video and year for BD falls under "a little rough" because they did push the envelope the appropriate amount. There have been years, however, when they tried too hard and had a book that was damn near impossible to clean. And it isn't just BD. People do it all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This year it did. Hopefully it'll keep working.

If I remember hearing correctly Keelan isn't Center because they wanted someone who was aleady a leader, and Nic was the center Tenor for BD and RCC last season.

Been a BD fan since the early '90's and absolutely love all the stuff from the 80's. Now that I have that out of the way, seriously, what's with all the hype for down beats and roll releases? Some of those releases aren't even good! It's so annoying trying to watch them in the lot nowadays because of all the people who can't shut the hell up because they put their sticks out together!

well as much as i love SCV this is from mid-late juen.. and its so clean.. not that SCV is dirty but their book isnt quite as techniqally challengeing.. it sounds amazing but devils will probably take high percussion this year.. and this is from a coats fan not a die hard BD fan

I hate on the blue devils because, recently, their book has been over-written and not clean. They usually go for "flashy, fast, and loud" instead of "clean". I will admit, however, that this year, they achieved "flashy, fast, loud, and clean". They were good this year. Hands down. I respect them for that. I may not like them, but I respect them. After all, they could all out-drum me on any given day.

dude, not what you are seeing but neither SCV nor Bluecoats will take high drums. As of Quarter Finals BD is 1st and Cadets are 2nd (only by two tenths) and Crown is in 3rd. SCV and BC are 4th and 5th. There may be a change in the top three depending on performance but I don't think SCV or BC will jump that far in two days unless the top three all have horrible shows.
