If this was the last run before finals (and I think it was) does that mean that Javi (the trumpet soloist during the ballad) blew out the amp that he was mic’ed to? If so... that’s some serious skill
@justenwilliams83796 жыл бұрын
SamTheTrumpetMan Yeah it was out around 7:40

Justen Williams yeah during the high A in the ballad
@clarkfitzgerald88144 жыл бұрын
I think this was a separate run than the one in his headcam. The A doesn't perfectly cut and then doesn't reenter perfectly. You can hear him re-initiate the note
@YBNmadman2 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the head brass of the blue devils (no punn intended) were mad at him or not because i mean he blow out an amp which means they have to get a new one and right before a finals run through but at the same time it takes a lot of skill and force on the amp to blow it out
@sackofwetmice4282 жыл бұрын
Sorry for late reply, but it is not so much as Javi's skill blowing out the speaker (no doubt he is an extremely high skilled player) but the sound tech having his levels too high for said movement. This could have been caused by a modification of sound/distributing said levels (high, low, mid, attack, bass, treble) and might have any one of those levels too high.

I learned the scv 2018 opener as a sophomore. Of course it took about 2 1/2 months of nearly constant work, but it was worth the time, because my growth as a mr I’m ist became exponential while learning the piece.

If you really want to learn this, the best way I found to learn fast music is to significantly slow down the tempo and try to get sections of the music up to speed as you learn them
