Mizus story is incredible and the fact she has flaws and actually goes through some brutal fights, sustains almost fatal injuries and overcomes incredible challenge makes her a likable and memorable character. ​​​​@@skypiller4626they are two different art style. arcane was 2D and they layered it with oil paint color so put depth on the scenes and some scenes are 3D . but blue eye samurai is 3D that has been colored like 2D so the movements be more natural. both animations use 3D and 2D in different ways . also arcane took 8 yrs to make bc of low budget they had , not bc of the details. idk why ppl keep comparing them , these two are soooo different in everything.

We watched this show today with friends and had a blast. Being outside from the 'colloquial/decadent West', this is culturally aware and egalitarian writing done right, eventhough blatant, realistic, rather than annoying. Waiting for a season two!

Absolute must-see series and a true gem on Netflix. Blue Eye Samurai completely surprised and overwhelmed me with its story and character depth, the previously unseen quality of animation (motion-captured with real life martial arts artists), and the artistic look which reminds me of Zelda and Studio Ghibli (Chihiro etc). The storytelling is complex and is surprising in every episode, the characters - including the foes - kept me excited and had me participate in their fate. A true masterpiece which kept me focused from episode 1 to 8, something I have not experienced in a long time, no matter how many new shows appear on Netflix every year. If Netflix does not continue this series with a season 2, I will be greatly disappointed.

So i just finished watching it and its one in a 20 years type of series and im not even joking, the reason it so special is because the main character is so well written, this is how you do a strong character that just happen to be a woman, i didnt even cringe at all not even a second it was good. I think she is my new favourite main character of any animated series. For the last 10 to 20 years a strong female character is strong just because, they didnt earn their power and was strong just because they are woman, but mizu is different, she has a goal, and she earn her strengh through training and development. It’s one thing when a story is milked for money, it’s another thing when the creators FROM THE VERY START intended the story to be told over multiple seasons, which is the case with Blue Eye Samurai. Oh, and I don’t mean to say the pace of this series is slow - it’s not. But the story is just on such a large scale that it just can’t be crammed into one season. Fowler "why do keeps happening", Yes she will always keep happen because Vengeance, determination and not wanting to be seen as a woman is what really makes Mizu unstoppable. When you pretend to be what you are not, you try everything possible so no one knows "your bones break like that of a woman"- statement came up twice from Fowler and someone else I can't remember when she was almost done for, but it set her ablaze. I really enjoyed this series than arcane, that I watched it whole twice a day. So happy for the renewal and salute to all those that brought us this Master piece 🙌

What a masterpiece!!!! Its just incredible! I just was so into it! What I miss was a Japanese voice.... Some voice just doesnt much.... Ringo for example...it just doesnt feel right. I missed that old and deep japanes actors voice. I hope the version of Dubbed in Japanese come out so I can Watch again! Then I know we will have a some another Incredible level experience!!!!!

This show straight up deserves an Emmy. And before people scream "Mary Sue", bro they aren't really promoting "girl power" in this show. She's literally hiding the fact that she's a woman in the show... Just admit you never want to see a strong female lead because you don't believe women can be strong. strong women in films: ellen ripley in alien, katara in avatar, eowyn in lord of the rings. mary sue: this female lead who can beat multiple men in a straight up fight, without using deception. a good female samurai would probably be toda mariko in the upcoming shogun 2024 tv series.

This show is great so far-at times it suffers from horrible anime-esque dialogue but if you skip through those parts you're left with an incredibly epic story. I know it's technically an animated series and not anime, but as someone who hates 99% of anime they've done a good job so far avoiding most of the cringey tropes.
