Yes it is a great song. I had only ever played it on a casual basis and did it in "C". But I have been through it several times with you and like the sound of it much better in "E". I'm using my Godin ACS SA for that. I'm using that guitar more and more as time goes by. I attend Big Lake Baptist Church. We don't have a piano player at the time so I do the whole song service on guitar. So...if something is written in A flat, they are going to get it in G and so on, just to keep it country. lol

How's it going? Good to hear from you and I'm happy to hear you're checking out some of our tunes. I've owned the Deluxe Reverb 3 or 4 years ago and it was one of my favorite amps ever. The Blues Deluxe is also a great sounding amp - much like the Fender Deluxe that I own now. I'm sure you'll love your new set up. I like the songs you've mentioned - I may take a shot at one of them. Thank you so much for the beautiful message...I miss Jim a lot, and his/our playing together. It always filled the house with such a beautiful sound! I think that's why we started loading all of these songs on KZbin. I also go there often to listen and remember with fondness playing them with him. Thanks again for the comment. it means a lot. Deb

I'm glad you're picking up a few of my licks - let me know if I can help....what church are you going to up there?....I doubt if the offertory goes down when you play, but that is pretty funny. Say hi if you see any of my old friends up there. I sure do miss it. Jim

Hey Jim, I have another suggestion. "It's Such a Pretty World Today". I learned it just today. I got the inspiration from listening to David Hartley and John Stannard. I think this tune is made to order for your style. They play it in "D" but I had an easier time of it in "C". If you post this song perhaps I can learn a little variation to my meat and potatoes version :-) This old song brings back a lot of fond memories to my wife and I

Another good one Jim. If I keep on picking up licks from your you-tube songs, I may have to send you a donation for the free lessons LOL. In your spare time look up Shane Adkins. He's a regular at CAAS and plays for the world like Doc. (heavy thumb). Sounds just like him on "Deep River Blues". I stole "He Leadeth Me" from him (except I do it in "A") and have played it while they're passing the hat at church. I wonder if giving goes down when I do offertory. LOL

Nice job, Enjoyed the video. Question, How do you avoid copywright notices on KZbin? I play the autoharp and I was playing blue eyes crying in the rain instrumental, not singing. and I got a copywright notice. Are you able to avoid that? Thanks.
@jimdebWright3 ай бұрын
Hi...I just saw your question. This is Deb, of Jim and Deb. I have no idea the answer to your question. Sadly, Jim died of cancer 8 years ago and frankly I haven't even thought about copyright laws because this KZbin channel was his hobby. I just played the bass along with him, but he did all of that. I haven't gotten notices or anything from KZbin, but I don't know the answer to your question....sorry.

Ok, so I could go on and on all day about my opinions, however out of respect for your time, I will just put it in a nutshell. """ The only thing in this world ( with the exception of love ) that is more important than music, would be the folks that are able to gift us with it. And you Sir, And you miss are truly among those few who have that gift to offer. And what little sanity that is left in this world is indebted to YOU and your counterparts. Thanks.

Wow...one of the nicest comments we've ever received. It means even more now that I'm on chemo drugs, which because of the side effects (sensitive, blistering fingers and hands), I can no longer play.
