When I lived up north, the turnip greens were markers to find the turnips. In the south the turnips were to anchor the greens in place until time to cook turnip greens. Its all good. ...Solomon

hi adam, looks like you enjoyed my neck of the woods (i live less then a mile from gator alley). a couple of tips when you return. (1) in spanish fort there is no fort, but you can go to blakeley park and see some civil war ruins and battlefield. (2) if you eat at the blue gill again, i suggest you try the double fried pork chops (yum).

Hello Adam, Gotta like your culinary exploration! Those deep fried blue crabs had me drooling. We have dungeness, king and tanner here but you can't eat the shells. I had some of those many years ago and they were really different and good. Raw oysters are always good. In my heyday I went to a seafood place and the shucker couldn't keep up with me so the house started giving me free oysters. I believe I had ten dozen of the smaller 'Olympia' oysters. Our locally grown are good also. This time of year is tops as they really have a crisp ocean flavor. I love them right off the shell nothing else on them. Keep on exploring and I will keep drooling. Take care. Doug
@Abom797 жыл бұрын
Douglas Thompson Man I havnt had soft shell crap in a while, need to try those again soon. The oysters in our area are really good. The trick is to get them nice and salty, some areas are more salty then others.
@douglasthompson27407 жыл бұрын
I never add anything to the oysters but I have observed the ones they grow locally have a very definite taste like the ocean which is more pronounced in the winter months as opposed to those harvested in the summer. Great eating any way you do it. Take care Doug

I learned several important lessons at Mardi Gras. 1) if gator is on the menu, order it. It is AWESOME, but it stinks up the kitchen when you're cooking it. 2) if gator is sitting in the parking lot near your car, run like hell - they're a lot faster then they look. Nice job on the tour, but now I'm really hungry. I found myself trying to figure out what to order off the menu.

Hi Adam. I'm really feeling your new videos. It's great that you're trying different things. The intro & music was really good. Have you thought about getting a Tascam type sound recorder with lav mic for recording your voice and mixing with the GoPro audio in your NLE? You can also run separate L & R mics to record audio for the intake and exhaust when the engine is fully run-in and you do a burnout.

Hey Adam. Thanks for sharing. Great video. Can you catch alligators for eating. Or are they a protected thing? Didn't see any no fishing signs there.
@thephotographicauditor67157 жыл бұрын
Seventy7 Industries In AL, first you have to be lucky enough to get a permit thru a lottery, usually in the fall. Only hunting from a boat with a fishing rod and a treble hook. Hook the gator in the exterior skin anywhere, reel him in to the boat if you can...gator has to be touching the boat before you shoot him in the head with a .22 Then, drag his 200-800 lb self into the boat and back to the boat ramp for weighing.

The Photographic Auditor. LOL. No way!!!! That sounds like a lot of work for dinner and shoes! I was thinking a chicken tied to a winch rope on a 4x4. And a 50cal. I figured they were a pest in the US. Obviously protected species.

Don't waste your money at Ruth's Chris. Their steaks are alright, but generally just slightly above Outback in being a sort of upscale franchise steak place. If you really want to eat a $50-150 steak for some reason, find a non-franchised steakhouse that sells pieces of meat that you can't buy at your grocery store.
