Do you have any video on how to shoot a cinematic short movie with an iphone 12? I’m shooting my first ever short movie with iphone and cap cuts. But I’m really lost on how to have a cinematic experience with an iphone. I’m the director, an actor and editor cause I’ve really really low budget. Is there any video you can recommend on shooting with an iphone that will make this new journey I’m venturing in to more easy sir? Thank you.

Hey, absolutely I'm happy to help! I don't have a video on how to make a short film with an iPhone yet, but I would love to make a video, specifically using my iPhone and Capcut if that would help. Let me know if you would be interested in something like that because I would love to make that video! However, there are some really great videos here on KZbin on using an iPhone to shoot a short film. FilmRiot and Mango Street both have BTS of films they made with an iPhone. Definitely check them out for more insights and inspiration! With that said, I believe that we can make any camera look and feel cinematic if you know what to look for. Here are few tips to help you get started. 1. Composition: Using techniques like the rule of thirds and leading lines will help the audience focus on the main point of interest. Which could be the character, an object etc. 2. Film in 24 frames per second: Most movies are filmed at 24 fps because this will create natural motion blur and realistic movement. 3. Use an app other than the native camera video app to film: I've used the BlackMagic app and I liked it personally. 4. Audio: If you have clear crisp audio for dialogue, great sound design and music that compliments the the events of the scene, the viewer will be more engaged in the story, and more forgiving when it comes to the visuals. 5. Story: In my opinion, the visuals are important, but a good story is what will keep the viewer engaged and keep them watching longer. 6. Shoot on the shadow side: Unless the script calls for a shot on the lit side, shooting on the shadow side adds a lot more depth to the image further giving it a cinematic feel. There is more I can say but this should get you started as to start to plan out your film in pre-production, and can go a really long way in making your short film look cinematic. I have videos on most of the things above and more on my channel if you're interested in learning more. I hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching the video and for reaching out, it truly means a lot. Cheers, my friend!

@@foxandcrowncreative Wow, I’m speechless. You really took your time to explain everything in detail despite your busy schedule. I truly, truly appreciate it. I’ve learned a lot from reading everything you wrote. You’re right about the 24 fps. I came across several videos yesterday while surfing here on how to make shots look cinematic. I’ll check out all your videos before I proceed with the movie I’m making. I’m sure they’ll help a lot before I continue with my own short film. I’ll be sure to notify you once it’s all done. Once again, thanks, brother. I really appreciate it. 🙏 And yes, I’m interested in you making a video with your iphone and a capcut

Absolutely, I’m so glad I could help! Definitely let me know when the film is public, I’d love to check it out. And I’ll be sure to add the iPhone + CapCut video idea to my list, making that video sounds like a lot of fun! Happy filming brother, cheers!
