Very much appreciate that it's dynamic.. It's a story, it invites you to react and play with it.. most playalong tracks is basically 6 or 7 times copy-pasta.

Django is like that song by george straight " The fireman " He can put em down when their smoldering hot. That is one bad mother. In a roll top Cadillac. Such dignity and grace coupled with the. Unrelenting. Machine gun picking hand despite his obvious adversity only having 2 loose fingers on the fret board. He was the innovator who spawned yhe legions of jazz swing players cuz any one listening. Knows q goat when they. Hear it

I have Band In a Box but I have no idea how you made it sound so good. The only Blue and Green MGU tracks I've found online were in Bossa Nova feel. I love how your version goes into double time. I am a piano player who would love a version without the piano. Would you be willing to sell me the MGU file, or an audio file without the piano?
@RiccardoTagliabue_guitartips2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Ken. I don't remember wich BiaB style I've user, but was a real tracks style for sure. Anyway, I usually export the tracks and edit it in my daw with some plugin.

Is this faster than recording, cause I don't feel like I can play the intro melody the right way? Or I should play slower>?

any idea what the key is? I'm terrible at figuring it out
@RiccardoTagliabue_guitartips7 жыл бұрын
It's a modal tune. Looking at chords and analyzing the melody you can find the best scale for every chord. Or try to analyze Miles solo (you can find it online)... I hope it will help you!
@Beniguitar947 жыл бұрын
The main key is D minor but it is swapping all the time. From a scale perspective, my choice would be: Gm6 - G dorian (D minor) A7#5#9 - A altered scale (Bb melodic minor) Dm9 - D minor Db7 - lydian b7 (Ab melodic minor) Cm9 - C minor F7b9 - F altered scale (Gb melodic minor) Bbmaj7#11 - Bb lydian (F major, D minor major relative) A7#5 - A altered scale (Bb melodic minor) Dm69 - D minor E7#9 - E altered scale (F melodic minor) Am9 - A minor Dm9 - D dorian My choice minimizes the time the tune is in a different key than D minor. In any case, to improvise over this kind of jazz standard it is more practical to think of arpeggios. Jazz was born to break rules, so forget D minor and think in the chromatic scale. I hope it is of help, Cheers.
@wabby22857 жыл бұрын
This is such an amazing reply, thank you. I'm new to modal jazz and this makes a lot of sense. So really, it's just treating each chord individually and applying the appropriate scale(s) that would fit that chord?
@Beniguitar947 жыл бұрын
Said like that it sounds a bit too simplified. The key is in the chord extensions. Let's say you have the following progression: C F G You can't just force Clydian, Flydian and Glydian b7 (it would sound forced and blunt). One way to catalyze that kind of sound would be adding the following chord extensions: Cmaj7#11 Fmaj7#11 G7b5 With the #11 and a major third you force lydian. With b7, major third and b5 you force lydian dominant. For this tune, I would actually say that it is not specially modal. It sounds more like chord substitution, a very popular resource to spicy up your progressions in jazz. For example, the Dm9 Db7 Cm9 F7b9 is not more than Dm G C F (circle of fifth) where you add some chord extensions, conduct a tritone substitution for G7 (substituting it for Db7), change C to C minor (as you come from the dominant you can either resolve in C or Cm), make F into F7b9 so that you can resolve in Bb. I'm sure there are many things I'm overseeing. In any case, please bare in mind that I'm just another amateur hobbie musician (don't take me too seriously). It is always a pleasure to be of help!

cool ! but the chords on the solos are in double time

Same thing bro
@harisioan3 жыл бұрын
@@Felipe-zm3pf after Miles plays the melody, the chords are played twice as fast during the piano and sax solos. The slow tempo doesn’t change, but most of the chords are only played for 2 beats, instead of a whole measure as they were under the melody.
