Excellent, dear Sandra. I love the way you play. You do it with so much feeling. Your teaching style is always the best. I’m always impressed with you clear and down to earth explanations. Wow, you even prepared two versions for this tutorial. I was listening to your lesson while I was traveling back from my trip to Mexico, but watching you teach and play is really delightful. Greetings and best wishes to you and Andy.

Excellent job! At age 74, I've progressed a lot last year, so the advanced version is on the menu.

Awesome! You can also just leave out some runs, or make your own.

Sandra, thanks for your great lessons as always. I've blind and your note by note explanations are invaluable for me. Very few KZbin instructors do this.

This tune has such a deep, plush melody and sound. Very well played Sandra…wow!
@GuitarversumSandraSherman2 күн бұрын
Absolutely. There's not much gling on, but I was fascinated the first time I came in touch with it at the mjsic university. The melody has all those nice tensions, that not much more us needed. Miles was a genius with such things.

WOW that's amazing. How you convey the important information and leave out the bla bla. I've learnt so much from you already. Thank you teacher!

Fantastic rendition, Sandra. I love both versions already. Not sure I can play the advanced one, but the easy one looks playable, and may I say, with the backing track it really shines. This will end on my repertoire list for sure. Thank you!
@GuitarversumSandraSherman2 күн бұрын
Start with the easy one, so you know the chords alread,. The advanced cefsion is just aroeggiating the chords rather tjan pkaying them at once, pkus some scale runs in between. And if you know what you're doing you can just omit some of those runs and just play the easier ones.

Beautiful tune, beautifully played. Looking forward to tackling this one. Happy new year from the now dystopian US. Maybe your lessons will help me get through the next four years.

I feel ya 😊. Music always helps. I just stopped reading news, other than my own country's (which is also bad).

Very very good. I'll learn it definitely. Hi, Sandra, my favorite guitar player, have a very very happy new year.

That's a good and easy one for your repertoire. Start with the easy version, so you know the chords, then it's really just adding some lines in between.

@GuitarversumSandraSherman I will do as you said. Thank you.

Sandra, for 2025, you have upped the bar with this great presentation of Miles’ classic! Well done!! As you are so good at doing, you’ve given us the “whys” along with the “hows!” I love the lines you selected for the advanced version. They land beautifully! H-W, harmonic minor, alt… great insights👏😁! How will you top this!? 💙💚(see what I did there😂)

Hehe, thank you! Yes, I'm back with new chord melodies. It's usually the end if the year where I stio making new chord melodies (or they can't be in the Black Friday Everything bubdme) and focus on gear reviews and other stuff. But I so enjoy making these chord melody arrangements. That's really what I love doing. For some reason I also dug the beginner version. Along wigh the backing track it creates a special mood. Thank you for appreciaging my explanations. So happy to see you enjoy these.

Loved your advanced demo. Emulating a horn player on guitar is a master ability. Kinda holy grail at times. I must send you a photo of my Miles Davis T-Shirt one day. You'll understand when you see it. 😉 I will try to learn this if I can retain it, even for a short time. 😵💫 😎
